Wow! Nice easy oportunity for a genuine BMW E36 Driveshaft bearing 26-12-1-226-731 This common wear item is due on most E36s these days. Excessive driveshaft play is asking for trouble increasing U joint wear and vibrations. After $75 for it, cost me over 100 originally! PM Me

Water/Coolant in Undercarriage - what hoses are here?
Michael. replied to Arma's topic in Maintenance
That just looks like p/s fluid or engine oil leaks that stain the plastic. -
Nice to see we both do the same thing. I haven't done this for a while. Must do it in my Soarer once the active suspension is operational

It's really sad such an integral part of the car fails like this. Seeing it and experiencing it with my E36 was one thing, yet these E46s are even worse..

I think its a good move really. Turbos = easy for silly power/torque. I'll buy you some glue for the DSC button so you can't turn it off though Better yet, take Earon's idea. 'DSCON'

Hmmm what is a fruits car Amber? Yes, the height issue is one factor, there will be a slightly comical aspect to seeing you squeeze into a 1 series coupe Ryan! All the tune-ability talk, do such cars engines really need to be modified? - they are already quite powerful... especially for daily use - just buy awesome tyres for the road and some worthwhile suspension upgrades

Got some rare hydraulic struts for my non BMW car. Exciting.

It will be the guibo for sure, you will be surprised how much flex gets into them over time! I changed mine in the E36 to a brand new one (lower steering shaft assembly) and it was a night and day difference.

I asked on of the local (Australian) Soarer UZZ32 Gurus in Australia that has been playing with them for over a decade the following: Mike Beck - Rob Hayden -

It's there to clear the ribbing on the bonnets underside

The Corsa E46 M3 systems sound pretty naff unfortunately. Much better ones out there. In fact these are prob the worst

Nah you could get the early 1991-1996 twin turbo as manual, and the later single turbo type. A good blend, but I hear you really need to work the gearbox to get the most out of them in stock form. My plan was to manualise the V8 as soon as possible, but restoring the active suspension is the priority now.

My thoughts precisely. As I discovered with my V8 E36... the main engine parts and stuff is piss easy. It's the 'minor' parts that tie everything together, plumbing and wiring etc that become the hardest factor to tackle, fiddly and time consuming stuff!!
-
Sorry Richie. Don't sell it, just put a manual gbox in it!
-
That smell would just be a catless exhaust smell. My new Soarer has no cats and it's really gross. When I re do the exhaust I'll be sure to use magnaflow highflow cats like I did on the E36 V8, much nicer when standing around the car while it's idling!

"Minor finishing required. " Sounds like a LOT! Epic build though. wowe

I've made a facebook restoration page for this car, rather than a forum based one. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1704783899747828/ The TTs were the go fast low spec ones, good for a thrill, not so much a cruiser with the toys. Both cars have such different characterstics, I never like the TT versions, too gutless downlow then too fast when the turbos kicked in. Hehe, with extreme tyre flex Yeah they aren't a fast car stock, the V8s need to be supercharged, a Camry V6 Aurion is a faster car stock vs stock. Mmmm manuals do pop up now and then, but sure are a rarity.
