I agree, had a great run to Raglan on back road with a couple of bikes a few years back, learner on a big bike (?), was great fun.

I'm going to say yes. There is a black nz new one in Mission Bay, about 100m from my mums place. I drool.

Great looking car, if I could think of an excuse, I probably would. However, a new baby in 2+ weeks and 5 cars in the driveway say no. Didn't these things have a "tamper" dot on the speedo, or am I remembering a fallacy?
-
Really? Our M325i was all over the show in the wet with LSD. Jules, look forward to it, only a few kw shy of the Falcon......
-
Sorry Paul, the golfer call is another Big Lebowski line.
-
I got it, I guess he's not a golfer.

Kayak racks.

Palmy? I saw this today in Okahu Bay.
-
Or in this case, the pain of apathy.

Under the drivers seat from memory. Low, flat thing, can get them at audio stores for like $150, powered. Don't know if they as good as the BM one.
-
Cost has come down, $2500 quoted to fix now, as opposed to $7k. Service is $400 ish now too, as opposed to $800-1000 every 4 years. I'm still not sold on the box, I had one in an R32, was ok, but I hated hill starts in it and it one failed completely, although functioned fine after being turned off and on. I got rid of it shortly after. Drive mums 118i today, it's a great round town car, great stereo with the factory sub and rides nicely. If I want to go fast or carry stuff, I'll take the Falcon.

Seems they do a tune also, will check.

Blue, I went to a corporate event hosted by a guy with an M5 wagon, I thought "cool car", then thought it didn't look quite right. 525i. Did spot a mint condition Lada Niva, probably rarer than an M5 wagon.

I'd have sold it by now Jules. Still would have only had 120-130kms on it. 4.6 with full Alpina kit and build plaque.
-
About 4-5 years ago, I could have landed a genuine B10 with 78kms on the clock for $11,800. Still wish I did it.

Here's one. http://www.nizpro.com.au/

Here you go. Glad you're alright. http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/47720-540i-with-alpina-wheels/#entry516237

Might appeal to someone. Looks like it's missing some kit at the back to me, but I don't really know with E39s. http://www.turners.co.nz/Cars/Search/BMW/540i/11797693/

Yes, 600nm was manufacturers spec, part of the reason I'm putting off anything on the Falcon, it's at 586nm standard on overboost and I don't particularly want to pay for a new one.
-
I read 600nm. A billet input shaft is the only mod I've see, that and fluid changes, rather than "lifetime".
-
Yeah, don't get me wrong Matt, I'm not having a go at you, I just don't have much faith in the measuring system! Suresh's car chucked out some impressive power, be good to see yours doing the same. One thing you both might want to consider is that the modded Falcons using the same box put in a stronger input shaft once they go over 300kw. Not sure on how much power you're planning on.
-
Sorry, unless you're claiming well in excess of 450hp, I call bollocks. Or post a measured 12.1 sec 1/4 and prove me wrong. I'll be seriously impressed if you can.
-
I think it's auto and from my experience, streets slower than a 328i. In fact, as a reference, I once beat one easily in our old Pulsar GTi. That was in about 2004, the guy looked like he'd still be disappointed now.

You saw the power figure, what's not to love! Actually, I just thought he was looking for the impossible, so why not the improbable? Anyway, in all honesty, I'm a car fan, not a one make wonder.
