    Insurance

Vero for everything. Nothing bad to report.
  3. Just so as you know, the auto and manual brackets are the same. You just hang a clutch pedal and master off the other side of it (with manual brake pedal too). The pedals them selves aren't too pricey from dealers etc. If you're going to do it check with Will as to which gas pedal he used and if the e30 arrangement is compatible with the e36 gear.
  4. Also, also, flange flange flange puhuhu
  5. Also, all the single piece shafts I've been around are splined into the output shaft of the gearbox. Pretty sure that's not gunna mix well with a flange?
  6. This. The front flange of a V8 is larger than the 6 cyl. Edit; the e36/46 ZF flange is too small. You'll need something like an auto shaft to suit the body and a front half shaft to suit the V8 (auto and manual V8s share the same flange). Take the 2 pieces to a drive shaft shop and have them mash the 2 front shafts together. They'll cut it at the welds to the flange and the uni and put a new piece in. Once you have the engine and gearbox in there you can take a measurement. Gunna need to shorten the shifter too. Ah the joys of real engine swaps ha.

    Show me your garage!

Nice danger. What's the ducted thingie next to rx4? Actually, more importantly, plans for the rx4?
  8. Awesome I love these things. Gonna need a decent shock leader?
  9. Whod a thunk eh. Heat pump does more than just heat!
  10. Only if they're those little yanky horses. She's a decent looker though.
  11. I got lucky and found a bloke in christchurch selling an unused early e39 unit for 500. It's got the e39 timing ring but uses the e34 type larger clutch.
  12. Another thought, try contacting the engineer who made the other unit. Maybe he still has the specs?
  13. Like I say, just guessing. It's only the the doweling I'm thinking of. What's to stop the 2 pieces walking against each other? It's probably easier to give the engineer a whole unit to base a new one off though. Which clutch are you planning on using? If it's different to the v8 one it could throw the stack height out.
  14. Really all you need is the height of the flywheel (I can measure easy enough) and the bolt patterns from the flex plate and pressure plate. Not sure if stacking 2 pieces together is a great idea. How are they doweled? But just guessing.
  15. Yeah they are 1 piece and would have to be cut off. He'll also need to decide if he's using M60 or 62.
  16. I got an old m60 dual mass you can use as a pattern. Currently has a m62 ring gear fudged onto it though. When you talk to the engineer he'll likely need a ring gear from something. An auto flex-plate should work?
  17. I got a 3.77 in bits in a bucket from an E36 if it's any use. Cheep cheep. Still looking for a low 3/high 2 old school med case...
  18. Whilst I like your idea in concept Olaf, cassettes are just so inconvenient (and by inconvenient, read bugger that!). Myself, I'd find an older, original type cassette unit, find appropriate schematic, fudge an input into the board and feed with an ipod or similar. Preferably with pre-out. One day I'll follow my own advice ha.
  19. Check rebuild/parts availability for the 420. I've 'heard' they don't sell separate parts but could be bs.
  20. No pics mate but cause I have a big hole where the tank was I put the accumulator/pump/filter there.
  21. Cant see how being stationary is relevant? She turned into your path. Seems simple to me? If you were doing the speed limit (50?) it would still be her fault.
