  1. @zero i used it on a 4age rocker cover, and it's still sweet to this day, they get pretty hot, especially the new owner, he's been giving it death lol Are you talking about the left over diamond schwartz / clear? just do it bro! Did you recover some from the drive way
  2. @M3AN I just found this - did you ever try this when you were trying to get yours off? i wish i tried it
  3. @Statek yeah bro, i am living the dream of an m3 - without the 2 door feel - without the price tag - without the performance I havent had the heart to debadge it or chuck msport stickers on the calipers lol
  4. cylinder 3 is rooted mate! Sell it to me, i'll sort it all out ?
  5. It would appear it is the same https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=VS12-EUR-03-2006-E91-BMW-325i&diagId=34_2249 The brake pads move within the sliders on each side dunno, will check all is working tomorrow when i bleed the brakes
  6. Are those front caliper brackets the same left and right? Event thought i labelled everything, i might have got them mixed up lol, as i found my self trying to attach the front left caliper on the front right, and it was upside down so i stopped haha. they look identical? Only the caliper is different each side
  7. @M3AN yeah bro, i gave up and then put the allen key bolt back in, painted it - and then took a photo Paint should hold up alright, it's got clear coat over it if it were just base coat, i think it would be chewed up quite quickly Regretting not doing the front brake pads while it was out, could have gone to a ceramic pad, less dust!
  8. Fitted Now just gotta bleed the brakes. Looks real clean, not Honda ricer at all
  9. @Statek i checked, with the hand brake on the rotor had no movement, with the hand break off it seemed to turn (but not too far because the other wheel was grounded) So im hoping i didnt do any damage lol, i gave up not after long, too hard for me to be arsed in this i guess i'll find out when i try and use my hand brake? Or would i have known i done something lol
  10. Horse power aquired That gun metal rim blue caliper combo is nice. Glad I didn't go red.
  11. @M3AN rear hubs ain't coming off. And the mallet is huge. Looks like it's going to to be hopefully someone else's mission in the future. Or hopefully it never has to come off. Oh well lol still going to paint the outside
  12. 1am. Clear is on. They looking goooooood Blew the breaker to the garage for compressor some how part way through and ended up having to run 40m of extension cords from the other house to finish the job lol! Good times
  13. Base coat on! Man these boys are Poppin!! ? Midnight ... And still cranking , getting it done Clear coat going to unleash the blue
  14. @zero not for daily use. Calipers don't exceed 80deg unless your really giving it sh*t. That bc/cc handles up to 120 anyway before warping. ( They bake it in 70° ) that's autothane range though (that diamond Schwartz you have is the same) Not sure what other brands of base coat does, it should be similar. The hubs and rotors I got vht though. The rotors get a bit hotter. Heard people doing normal enamel on them though too. But yeah to be on the safe side.
  15. Primering time Hope I have enough blue left lol My supply has done two rocker covers now hoping to do all calipers Not bad for only buying 200ml
  16. @aja540i got one but it doesn't help that much, getting in all the small gaps is the time killer
  17. Two calipers to go There's no quick way to wire brush calipers All up when I'm done I would estimate between 6 to 8 hours prep lol
  18. Painting the brake calipers we estoril blue on my e91 Thought I might Chuck a timeline up of it as I go The quantity of brake dust is outstanding, trying to capture as much of it as I can because there's at least 50g of it
  19. Removed all brake calipers and brackets off the vehicle to wire brush and sand the crap out of them before I paint them. Only done one bracket and the quantity of brake dust is insane
  20. @M3AN a bit more than that mate! It's like a TWIN TURBO NOW
  21. Spent the day upgrading the overall performance and handling of my suspension with after market tyre HARTGE valve caps. Well worth it
  22. Also something else, When I took them out, I only noticed 1 gasket (the black one on the right) I couldn't seem to find the left grey one on either They dont fall off into the head do they? Either that or the people who last worked on the car never put them back in, just wondering if i should be concerned lol Does that grey seal stay in place around that groove? or does it get pushed up against the black one. I was pretty gentle bringing the valves out and that gasket definitely wasn't there.
  23. Took them out gave them a good clean Vanos units measured exactly 11.2Ohm, which after doing a but more research seems to be within spec The P1554 code is only intermittent, I actually remember it popping up about 1000 km ago, but my reader said it was a cruise control fault, it was only when i googled it that i found out it was vanos related. Might just see if it comes back @Jacko could i buy your spare ones if the code comes back? I would prefer buying second hand OEM to parts off Amazon again, scarred for life LOL.
  24. @M3AN WOW! After hearing this, when i do my calipers, i'm going to take all rotors off HOPEFULLY and clean em up applying either fresh anti seize or a coat of zinc.
