Yeah E34 is alot harder to spin than the E30. Only time ive had it slip out is in the wet at a roundabout, was probably going a bit fast and the auto decided to change down while cornering, the back end came out and i did a few zig zigs but managed to re gain control. Am pretty cautious about cornering with autos now, don't really feel in control like a manual. Had plently of the E30 going sideways in the wet but haven't spun out yet

E34 still is semi-trailing arm. E36 (bar Ti) onward would have multilink id say

If it doesn't have the 218HP not really worth it then, who would buy any US spec'd engine.

Yeah your right, i looked it up on carfax and thought it was NZ for some reason.

Yeah slogan is pretty bad. If they interpret it as racist they wouldn't be the first to have a cry over nothing.

Yeah sounds like an actual transmission problem if its loosing drive. Guess you dont know what the fluid level and condition are like having no dipstick It should go into limp mode with TRANS PROGRAM ERROR and be stuck in 3rd with reverse but that usually electrical failure

Nope, it was available on every BM 1991+ as far as i know. Not really sure why there are alot of 520i Individuals, I was thinking it maybe it had something to do with them starting production in 1991 also. Here a picture i have on my PC of 750il Royal Highline Individual, hard to get better than this

Every E46 ive seen has a little picture next to the expansion tank cap showing the correct cold level. Extract from the manual anyway

Didn't know there was anything wrong with it

I know its not but what it was saying the procedure isnt much different for a 750

Yeah if your using BMW ATF will cost a bit more but otherwise imo not that much different. Would think the E36 should cost more in theory having to pump the fluid into the sump. Guess alot of the cost comes down to what the hourly labour charge is.

$400 My mate got one done there recently on his E36 318i was around $80-100 i think but he supplied the filter.

Hillcrest Auto Services in Hamilton which is pretty close to you im guessing . Owner is an Ex BMW mechanic and still serves alot of his old customers. Knows his BM's very well.
