I have the E32 Bentley manual in scanned form, its 68mb thou
-
Yeah was watching that one too to see what it would go for, came up just after i got mine. How much did you get it for if you don't mind me asking? I got the same alloys as you and i quite like them. Should start a 750i club

Im running 205/50 T1R on my E30. Not bad tyres im running them at 37 PSI all round to help with the sidewall flex. Reckon my Bridgestone Potenza G3's were better cept when it was wet. Still a good tyre and fairly cheap too.
-
Yeah looks pretty clean. Are you going get some Sports Seats?. First thing i did when i got mine, world of difference.
-
Not sure if my fuel light even works, ive had it down on the E mark and nothing. I tend to get 9-10L per 100km but ive never really had a trip where i haven't put my foot down a few times, so could probably could do better
-
Just jump started my mates '98 318is a couple of times with just std leads and the usual precautions with no problems.
-
There was a E34 525i in the US or Canada with around 800,000km on the clock iirc. It was a taxi at one point. Damn good for a NZ new thou.

Looks real clean and nice and nice stock look too
-
Looks nice and yeah i agree buy while the fuel relativity cheap.

Always happens when you buy a car another one just appears right after. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-184002552.htm

Yeah its got self leveling rear std being an iL. Bottom on the console is ASC, sounds like your describing EDC(Electronic Damping Control) which i dont have luckily. Works fine atm but if it fails ill just have to covert it to a std setup myself.
-
Yeah probably get some new shocks at some point just to firm it up a bit, had some Koni SA's in my E32 730i and they were great. Yeah i agree they handle pretty good for what they are and still got good power by in this day and age. I remember a few Holden V8's getting a surprise when my mate had his one.
-
I got around 11-12L per 100km returning to Hamilton but i did have a few problems leaving the throttle alone hehe. Be leaving it stock as im just planning on using it for trips now and again.
-
Cheers Got it from Pearce Brothers Limited. Only thing it needs is new rotors soon, everything else seems well taken care of. Mate had a '89 one with 3.15 diff this has a 3.64, got the traction control light going off the line without even trying.

As its been said everyone should own a V12 once in their life .
-
Yeah. Was a bit of a gamble as i didn't view but a that price was worth the risk but its been very well looked after. Get some pics up for you Penry, nice to know someone likes them.

I just got a '92 750il for $2k. I remember they were about $220,000 new. 750's have to be one if not the fastest depreciating BMW.

My mate has a 98 E36 318is Jap Import which i assumed had a Jatco & needed appropriate fluid. We took it in for a transmission flush and filter change and my local Ex BMW mechanics and he said only 6 cylinders from Japan came with the Jatcos. He worked Coombes Johnstone for 10 years, older dude seems to know his stuff. He just replaced with Dextron 3 and its been fine as ever, not that is wasn't before thou.
-
Mines ok, a bit loud and little rattly and quite a firm ride on coarse seal. Very good on smooth stuff like most cars. You feel alot of of the bumps but i don't think i have much to vibration. Im running full urethane and H&R\Bilstein Sport combo so not exactly stock ride. Going 100kph+ the ride is excellent just the usual wind noise. Ive driven a few stock E30's and thought they were pretty good for and older car, certainly better than most japs of similar age.
-
Looks just like a Holden with a some BMW badges on it to me but you could do worse.
-
I used the my E34 Bentley manual and that was pretty good. They don't seem to cover bottom end thou but prob figure that out easy enough when i cbf doing it . GL anyway, least its easy to work on.
-
Are you just doing head rebuild or the bottom end too?. Personally Id just do the usual valve grind, port and polish and head skim and leave it at that, after all its only an M20. You could do a 272 Cam but depends on how much you want to spend.
-
If its really black like mine was it might take a few flushes to get all the old fluid out and have it looking nice and red. Pretty sure takes less than 1L
-
I agree. The M20 in the E34 is pretty sluggish compared to the M50. Like its been said might as well get a 535i manual. It ain't that much worse on gas, heaps more powerful and no timing belt to replace either.

Don't forget the Munroe's, will handle like a Ford should.
