  1. Manual is always the better option. After owning a 540i6, there's no way id ever consider buying an auto version anymore. You should of bought mine

Used my old mans 1\2 Stahlwille with an extension pipe on my M30 crank nut, handled it no worries. The best part is he found it on the side of the road in the 80's, so owes him nothing if it breaks,
  3. Guess it depends on your definition, to me they aren't expensive on the grand scale of things. Ive probably spent 1.5k on my M30 doing the same type of thing as you.
  4. Only thing it needs is a manual trans
  5. E32 750il aren't too complex and were built to last, the E65 is the opposite.
  6. I am a loser badge because i couldn't get a real iL
  7. Damn, would made more sense to put a 2.8L in. Nice car though, can't think of why the rear suspension would be different to any other std E34 sedan.
  8. Saw that car, looked like a good deal, it was a 2.8L right?
  9. Exactly. The k's of engine would be the least of my concern (like every car)
  10. You forgot the engine which has been modified and cost $$$$$
  11. Nice, i love towbars. I installed one on a E38 years ago with the OEM module and it worked like a charm.
  12. Sounds about right. Mine did have aircon, sunroof and a towbar which would of bumped it up a bit.
  13. Only way i see it being 1990kg is if you got one fat mofo in it. I weighted one of my E34 manual 535i and it was like ~1580kg <1\2 tank of gas, no one in it
  14. Don't think there any switches to tell control module if its locked or not so wouldnt think so.
  15. Yeah dont buy plastic ones, break instantly. I got 4x thru a local tyre shop here for $55, they had to ring suppliers in Auckland to get them. You can get them ebay etc for cheap, but as for local you'd have to ring around or maybe else from Auckland here knows.
  16. Im Assuming your central locking is working fine
  17. Dont think the key can arm the system just disable it. So has the key fob has never worked at all? no led?. Did you have the fuse in when trying to resync it? Lot of possibilities, assuming the right procedure was used it can takes a few goes to get it to sync The alarm system may need to be reinitialized using software and have to keys resynced
  18. You talking about these ones? 72.6>74.1
  19. When you say the new key doesn't work, are you meaning the remote locking isnt working on it or the key isnt starting the car?

    E36 M3 Resto-mod.

Was that from the previous or another one in the past? Usually least 1 owner who hasn't carried the bag
  21. I bought 2x from turnersmotorsport for $230 landed. Last time i was at the dealer they charged me $70-80 for a std vinyl one.

    E36 M3 Resto-mod.

Lucky you got this thing cheap, sounds like the previous owner wasn't giving it the tlc needed.
  23. Ive already got a front bar so no point in my calling. They pretty much only came on M5's which rare in NZ so the chances of finding out are next to zero, ive tried.
  24. All i know ive never been charged GST on less than $400 total cost. Used to get away with goods in the $400-$600 region sometimes, but not these days.
