  1. At that price i would expect 3 pedals as a start
  2. Either that or its the colours, they are at opposite ends of the scale.
  3. Exactly. I have nothing against SMG gearbox's and they have their advantages but given a choice id take a manual every time regardless. BMW's philosophy was always to offer M cars in manual.
  4. I dont think ive ever heard a bad V8 from any manufacturer
  5. The benefits of a proper manual still outweigh any other transmission
  6. Haven't taken any. It wont be worth alot in current state i know so probably just end up $1 reserving it i think
  7. Bold claim and price i think http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-691133155.htm
  8. Found this today stored away, its been damged and cracked at the bottom and will have be plastic wielded It appears to be genuine and looks to bolt on to E39's with std front bumpers Haven't priced up the cost of it yet but before i do are these even worth anything or sort after at all?
  9. I know lowering\stiff springs don't do any favours either but if bought any E46 id get it checked regardless of what it was. I know all cars have issues but if you get caught slipping with this design flaw you can be up for a large bill. A guy on another forum here in NZ recently found out his 328i needed the subframe replaced, which he did and had the new one reinforced.
  10. Definitely a design flaw from BMW, they aren't perfect. Wouldn't surprise me if E90's have the same issue in the future.
  11. Good looking factory 16" wheel used on E31's. Listed on tm but PM if interested. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=690914472
  12. http://www.turners.co.nz/Cars/Search/BMW/M3/12103127/
  13. Talk about living in the past
  14. Looks a bit rugged and unkept to me plus its not an BMW V8
  15. Guess it depends on if he's willing to negotiate and that actual condition of the car once its viewed. If there's any issues etc he should be willing to drop the price M10 is solid as engine, not as fast or efficient as the M40 but id rather bet my life on a M10 than an M40.
  16. Thats been on tm for years so the guy can't be in a rush to sell it. I don't think its even worth 1\2 what he asking, its not even mint to start with and thats before viewing it.
  17. ZHP gear knobs are sweet, i got them on both my cars now. Added AUX thru CD changer on the E39, sounds decent for a stock system and gotta be better than those tape convertors.
  18. Not yet but im looking at getting something sometime soon. One of first road bikes i ever rode was a GSXR 600, it was damn scary having that much power compared to the farm bikes i was used to. My old man is been fixing up an old '87 GSX750 which im looking forward trying.
  19. +1 get a R1100\1150 or something.
  20. Thats how my car was when i got it but nothing i dislike about it as it stands. I rather have the E38 setup over the E39.
  21. I think the Y resonator is an E39 V8 thing, i havent seen them on any other bmw myself. My 540i has had its Y removed and running some sort of single round muffler at the rear, sounds good with being too loud and you can hardly hear it when cruising.
  22. Real good deal and looks very tidy. At the price im not surprised its basically sold already.
  23. You gotta own and really drive an E30 to appreciate them. I was really never too attracted to them at first but after buying one to see what the fuss was about i was hooked End of the day a nice E30(esp the M3) will always get plenty of attention and respect unlike some We all know you are a E36 fanboy etc etc so even im going to say just buy one already
  24. Nothing against the E36 but i wouldn't call it a solid design, if it were they wouldn't of used such sh*t house door trims among other things.
  25. +1 to what Bue-540 said. Flying to pick up the car and driving it back is way more enjoyable, is usually cheaper and you get find out all the things that need fixing on it too.
