  1. yea that makes sense when i did boris's it was a road tune and we went to the dyno they could only pickup afew kw's over what i did his car went well but his clutch didnt like my driving ps: enjoyed watching your 34 around hampton

Part of the design when we did the mapecu was to make it user friendly and its a no brainer to do either in 2d or 3d which puzzles me why people have issues with it, since it works off the factory base tune just like reflashing its pretty easy to get your head around and if you wire in a stereo then mapecu is just as easy. Using the auto tune makes life easier again or use a base map out of the software as a starting point.
  3. not aimed at you so take no offense was just a general statement i get asked all the time for tables and refuse to pass them on, ill be doing a video for YouTube about tuning the mapecu but not how to tune if that makes scence? there's many variables that go from car to car even the same everything there's still differences thus why i tune it on face value regardless
  4. Dont fear batmans here :ph34r: Since i helped to design the mapecu ive already sorted it with andrew to do the tune. And a small bit of advise people even after 25yrs doing tuning etc it takes years to teach how to, tuning isnt a science nor does it come from a book if that was the case was is it every tuner gets a different result? Its more a black art than anything and generic a/f ratios dont apply across the board along with timing curves, the engine decides what your going to get not the calculator a 1 volt drop can change a tune and never ever swap tuning tables that equals heart ache. and there more than one person out there that can tune a bmw...... I make not apologes for coming across strong the fact of the matter is everyone works hard for their money and it doesn't grow on trees i call it as i see it and being a soft cock never did anyone any good, but everyone is entitled to be listened to as far as customers go and given a fair deal im sure you all agree.

    reground cams thus the lash caps depending how good the springs are and oil pressure ive been running past 8500 on hyd without and issue, there's .010" between a hyd and solid cam in the shape just off base circle solid is more aggressive how it opens the valve

  8. Fair enough swordfish im looking at from 25yrs in the industry and i wrote for NZPC for over 12yrs for free, the overall image for that scene isn't good so i got out and glad i did but i debate the cost of drifting versus running a e30 it doesnt cost you 1500 a day in tires to run a e30.
  9. hahaha no challenge there Glenn i use to sponcer a few of the top drift guys and got nothing in return for it despite them winning here and in the states as for the clean image? I think hes missing the point somewhat and needs to watch the news a tad more to get the idea of the stigma thing for drifting, i don't need to paint my own wagon to prove my worth been there done that countless times. Cant justify smoking $400 tires in two runs not that moneys an issue just fail to see the point for whats gained so you can go sideways smoking the bags, im a westie that's just an average day out here but try and run Hamptons under a 1.10 now that would get my attention and be a lot more interesting. Where the bad image comes from is not far from me one the so called top drifters lives and also practices on the road !!! but his words were " but im a top drifter" my reply was "you of all people should know that's what the tracks for".........anyone get the idea? translated hes just another boy racer.

Everyone wants to be a drifter and there's only one madmike that's managed to make a name and money from it and the boy racer stigma that goes with it would be a good reason why BMW owners stay clear, i have a few wana be drifters as customers and um yep lets just leave it at that cause there very speacial.....in their own minds.     you can hyd or solid and they are being done to my own spec with the hyd were doing lash caps so no other mods needed and were not coping shrick cams

    not sure if your interested but im having cams done for my m42 that wont cost you the earth and lash caps to go with them for an easy install
  14. Dumb question but what do you intend to use it for class wise? Cause you cant run open BMW with forced induction of any kind at least not with a twin cam unless its alpina based and e36 never were

    do all the mods you want to then run it through for a cert and worry about the legal stuff then, if you get a competition license and run two events a year you may get away with the hyd hand brake
  18. been there done that by using the MC from a e38 27mm with average success then put a wilwood bias adjuster for the rear and was a lot better but still not what i wanted, now building a pedal box to replace the booster.

  24. just got my daughter a 96 coupe for $500 with no compression 8 bent intake valves easy fix a few hours work runs great drives great only had 120k on the clock has the m42 twin cam same motor putting into my sedan just has a turbo hanging off the side.
