Driftit 2078 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 IMO they are the best fun value for your dollers. Simple and very cheap. Just drive it. Who cares about the rest.
_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Just drive it Keeping one at this stage is the trouble lol
_Matt_ 42 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 there are some very good reasons here as to why you should stick with E28s

Shady 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 (edited) I bet the list of why you "should" have an E30 would be bigger. Edited July 19, 2010 by Shady

e30ftw 410 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 not if you research what your going to do before you do it. pwned. I can't for the life of me figure out what I would get if I sold my e30. I'd 95% likely buy another e30, which makes me think why bother sell mine when I have some hard to find stuff that I'd probably never get my hands on again ha. Time for my m50b28 build me thinks. Top Secret 2 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 I ran an auto E30 325i for nearly a year. Well, I've still got it. I need to sell that thing actually.. and the only things that have bothered me is a hard time starting every few days (it still always starts though) and.. a ponderous overdrive every now and then. That's it. Not too bad for a 22 year old car, which is cheaper than most corollas I see around.

Apex 693 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) Get a boat. Lots more fun Have toyed with the idea of an E34 but ultimately not for me. I will stalk out another M325i when I spot one and run up to them with Cash, worked with the last car. Spotted one in Rotorua last week but it got away from me, Lach silver and driven by an unsuspecting 40 something year old women. Driftit 2078 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 lol. nice comment about the boat. Why not spend the same money as a mint E30 325M and put a 320 in the series. Endless fun in the race series. Gives you an excuse to sell the frenchy and get a nice luxotow car.
Apex 693 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Im sure the series is fun but I can’t afford it nor can I see any logic in spending that much money and precious time on a slow car just so I can race against 50 other slow cars.

Palazzo 477 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 There was one for sale a few years back. Enquired at TM BMW once about a crank for one, said there was no such car, so getting parts must be fun.

Ha. They are much quicker than you think. Infact I would say the top end would be quicker around the track than you in your french thing.
Mark 178 Report post Posted July 22, 2010 - Steering like a bus - Spongy brake pedal - More rattles than a nursery - Every single one needs a complete suspension / bushing overhaul. - No room in footwell, need to have girls feet to drive one comfortably - Manual gearboxes more notchy than Simon's bedpost. - Tech I suspension makes every bump in the road feel like a major earthquake That's just a few off the top of my head.
