I was gutted I missed out on the red one down the road from me, I was the second highest bidder but was already paying more than I had told myself my maximum was. When this came up cheap I just grabbed it. My only spec requirements were manual and no sunroof, boston green was a bonus. I'm not super worried about the motor, it will probably get a lower mileage M44 swapped in once my dad gets his hands on it. I think the head design is better on the M42(?) so maybe we'll swap that onto the M44 block.

euroriffic 609 Report post Posted January 5 In other news! Sold the 335i, bought a momo wheel, hub adapter and a set of xyz’s coil overs for the compact, so spent a couple days fitting all that up, pumping the rear guards to fit the 17x9.5 arc-8’s, as well as getting the intercooler system plumbed up and working

Goose 41 Report post Posted January 9 Fitted a new set of wheels and tyres to replace the factory Style 66's on the 540i BBS LM (rep's) in 19x9.5 with Maxxis VS5 tyres. Might need to look at some slightly lower springs now. Wanted genuine BBS LM's but they would have almost doubled the value of the car! Crap photos as everything jammed in shed currently.
balancerider 758 Report post Posted February 4 Fitted a reverse camera! Interfaces properly with the idrive (not an OE camera module) but methinks it was designed around the bigger screen as the visual PDC display is pretty small.
BMTHUG 1057 Report post Posted February 18 (edited) Fitted the seats I had reupholstered about 4 to 5 years ago in finally. They compliment the grey really nicely. Also fixed my odo gears with new one's as the odo stopped working just after I fitted the seats coincidently Edited February 20 by BMTHUG
Neil McCauley 394 Report post Posted February 25 (edited) Tidied the garage and got stuck into some polishing... ...I own near $3K worth of DA and rotary polishers from Rupes and De Walt which are some 1700km away from me, and boy are my arms tired! An "acceptable" mirror shine by hand with a single hand pad and bottle of cutting compound, but it just shows how rooted the clear coat is. I'm dearly missing my proper gear. There's so much CMA thrown over the roads down here over winter, and I daily drive it in snow with snow socks that I shouldn't get too worked up about it. wrs 120 Report post Posted February 25 Went for a short drive down some nice twisty back-roads and ticked over 440,000km's.
euroriffic 609 Report post Posted February 26 Finally got the m3 into the garage to replace the leaking diff pinion seal. Got all the. It’s out the way, old seal out, and to find the one that was listed as the correct part isn’t. So onto realoem for the right part number and rang bmw this morning to order one through them, and should be here tomorrow to get that job finished up. while I was there, discovered the rest diff mount top brace has cracked, and maybe the weld around the base of the mount. So will get that fizzed up asap
balancerider 758 Report post Posted February 26 Got WOF (no advisories) and paid rego for another year. Always amazes me how the tire tread fluctuates upwards between WOF's (or maybe VTNZ have less of a vested interest in selling me new tires than the dealer)
BMTHUG 1057 Report post Posted February 27 (edited) Not mine. But sorted a clients e30 out properly. Did the rear output shaft seal, selector shaft seal, transmission guibo, rebuilt the shifter with new bushings and pivot cup, did the control arms and control arm bushings in the front, inner rack ends and tie rod ends, rocker cover gasket and set the valve clearances. Today was a good day. Also got the black one in the picture in for a m20b25 swap and manual conversion. Currently is a m20b20 with a knocking big end bearing. Pictures posted with clients consent. Love my clients Edited February 27 by BMTHUG
BMTHUG 1057 Report post Posted February 28 Not mine but prepped this kitted 88 320i sedan for an engine swap and manual conversion. Did a little round of pics with my client's vert and mine and also swapped in my mtech 1 steering wheel and fitted my tech 1 boot spoiler on the vert. Today was a busy day. Also listed my f30 320d up for sale.
Neil McCauley 394 Report post Posted February 28 If that's a genuine Zender rear wing I've got a blank cheque for your client should they wish to part ways with it!

Unfortunately bud it's a fibreglass replica. The whole kit is a fibreglass "m3 look" kit. Hahaha
euroriffic 609 Report post Posted March 15 (edited) Finally had a spare moment to fill the diff and refit the exhaust on the m3 last night. Also fitted my new intake. Now need to redo that hose to the booster round the back to make it look a bit nicer. Edited March 15 by euroriffic

e30ftw 410 Report post Posted April 16 Bought my first E46 325i touring a few weeks ago. Previous owner had been chasing what he suspected was a "vacuum leak", causing a slight miss at cold start but otherwise drove well. I got under yesterday to do the fuel filter and trans mounts. Took the cover off the fuel filter and sre enough the vacuum line is perished at the regulator. Take the filter off, replace the fuel lines and vacuum line while I'm there and finish up. Had the old fuel filter on my bench with black fuel and sediment coming out of it and that's when I realized the date on it was the build date of the e46. 22 years / 160000kms later.. yikes! 3
