What'd you do to your BMW today?

Recommended Posts

I wasn't initially going to bother because thought it would go out of my price range but my girlfriend convinced me to go out and have a look/drive.

Wait.. Your girlfriend convinced you to get an m3?! Think you've got a keeper there mate!

If she wasn't with me I wouldn't have taken it for a drive and therefore wouldn't have bid :)

Added Bilstein & eibach goodness

Started the LSD pumpkin swap, so far so good!

Anyone have any tips with regards to setting backlash and pinion to crown preload?

Gave the headlights a run over with Meguiar's PlastX - Improved them substantially. Will give them one more run over tomorrow.

Also dipped the kidneys black. Just need to do the side vents now. Pics tomorrow :)

If you've got any left I'll buy/trade you something for it when you're done?

Me? I can squirt some into another bottle and send it to you for $5 (postage). I'm just hectic as at the moment so it may be awhile before I can.

Bought it a full service. Had to stop at the beers shop on the way home after that.

Installed new racks in the weekend too. For all those important useful things I carry around..

Just finished replacing the timing belt etc and waterpump in my newest E30 (thread coming when i can get some photos of it). took about 5 1/2hours, including degreasing and painting bits and pieces, think I did well!? Teardown yesterday and rebuilding today both afterwork. I remember it being a lot easier when i was 16 doing it, i guess i must have had smaller hands then lol

Got round to painting the Intake as my time has been running out to paint things because the stuff for my head gasket from BMW has finally arrived =D.

Washed down the bumper, ants came out. Argentinian fire ants.

changed out rears and one side front springs on e30, now waiting for dealer to get the new nylocks that noone stocks in overnight. M10 x 1 - good thanks.

Service manager - " we dont sell nuts sorry - oh wait do they have a part number"

He will sell me non-bmw trans fluid for my e34 540i though, at $19.55 a litre.

Gave my car the clean of its life or more suitably the best clean it has had in 5 years since the last owner didn't seem to believe in it...

Was feeling a bit jet lagged so took a couple of hours off work this afternoon. Did some therapeutic work on the car by replacing all 8 ignition coils and a couple of bulbs from the instrument cluster to make myself feel better. WOF due next week and car seems in tip top condition now... Fingers crossed.
