Spent the whole day cleaning the E39

Tried Lux soap flakes on the leather to get rid of the shine, worked really well, the water was disgusting afterwards!

Kidneys were broken so painted them black, don't know if I like it...

Ordered a bunch of new stuff too: BMW badges, bulbs, halo LEDs, airbag sensor, bunch of assorted clips and picked up fluids and filters for a service next week.

I fitted my under dash filler panel above pedals in my e30, gave it a big birthday inside and out and went for a 2hour photoshoot as a feature car in new zealand performance car mag

Just going to bed now. Been getting everything off the E30 to do the head gasket.

Down to the timing belt now, so far about 3 hours worth of work on the car. Found the tensioner plate on the power steering belt was stripped to the days also.

The boot latch on my M3 had been fatiguing and cracking the sheet steel it was bolted into, to the point that it was getting a bit wobbly. This is apparently quite a common problem, especially with the spoiler optioned models.

With the screws removed. There were some dirty great washers on there which had been (barely) stopping it from flopping about too much.

I cut out a piece of thin aluminium from a spare length of top sill of a house window.

I then sanded, drilled, and countersunk it. (necessary to avoid the screws preventing the boot from closing)

Sanded, painted and installed:

Solid as you could hope for now. :)

Little job, but very satisfying.

Wow ^ what a random problem.

I haven't noticed such issues on my E36 but it might be worth a close look.

refitted a rad support , radiator , bonnet etc to the 2002 330i touring.

took it for its first proper short drive

gave it clean

drives very well only done 95,000km

near brand new goodyear tyres

tomorrow gets lights , bumper etc then off to the panel beaters for painting and revinning stuff

Me and Antil33t chucked in a near new Alternator Belt and my freshly locked 4.27 small case...

Went for a quick thrash ( in the wet ) was pretty bloody loose but definitely drivable as it adds HEAPS of grip on exit/entry just gotta be aware of the surface and how far away that wonderful torque curve of the beautiful m20b25 is.

+1 for lock diffs

Awesome work Brent.

Looked like a good runner to get back on the road.

Will you sell it or hang onto it for a while?

Yeah that touring looks great. Wheels, shadowline and tints would set it off nicely imo.

A friendly man added a mod for me. A $65 parking ticket, in an empty (1 other car) carpark for being 13 minutes overtime at 10am on a Sunday..

Yay

That's ridiculous... also aren't most car parks free on Sunday?
