Michael. 2313 Report post Posted October 6, 2016 Yeah, get 17s or 18s 20s look too big, and are a terrible choice for NZ roads, unless you wish to crack rims / have a harsh ride. You also pay a lot more for tyres.

hybrid 1043 Report post Posted October 15, 2016 Rule of thumb, look at the curve of the wheel arch and the curve of the wheel. If its a wider curve on the wheel its too big and doesnt follow the natural lines of the car. You will get the roller skate look from it. e39s really are made for 18 inch but can look nice with the right 19s on them.
kulgan 1042 Report post Posted October 29, 2016 Personally I would hate to see 20's on the E39 but thats just me. At the end of the day it's your car and you should be building it to your tastes. If you like the 20's then do it and FTW.
LsBeema 464 Report post Posted November 4, 2016 Thanks for the input guys. I like the 18s but just wanted to do something different, I saw a set of 19/11s& 9.5s and thought stuff it....lets go up for a challenge of squeezing those 20s inn. Unfortunately there is a change of plans. Sadly I have decided after prolonging this disliked season, is to sell the car. I need the funds for a business venture with keeping a white E92 M3 in my vision.
