Ah the purity hunters.  1 guy says they ruined it = THE INTERNET IS AWASH WITH PURISTS HATING ON THE SWAP!!!.
People swapping engines love to attract hate.  Even when it isn't there most of the time...

Actually from reading their comments section many are just disappointed that it is another LS swap.  Not that it is a swap.

I sometimes think purist are a bit OTT. Porsche Air Cooled enthusiasts are a great example as are manual drivers who dismiss modern DCT and auto boxes and of course the N/A engine guy's who shun all forms of forced induction. I guess this will rankle a few "purists" but it will be a very quick car with this swap so while  I would have preferred a BMW engine in there this still works.

Bit sad that they didn't even drive their first BMW with a BMW engine, but I'll always appreciate a V8 E30.

They're just doing what they and their tuners support.  They could wrangle a S65 in but who would figure out where the wires go?

I imagine it would be much tougher in AU to find a BMW guru to integrate a BMW engine in.

Yeah but then could have just got a premade harness and ECU online from a tuner that knows this stuff. I bought a setup from Redline Motorsport in the US. Shipped in 2 weeks, all wires marked and EWS and rear O2s removed from ECU. Plug and Play.
