Yes I can imagine that'll be fun! Part of me still misses my old E46 328i even, it just had something about the way it handled, it was fun. Anyway BM Workshop says they have got my 335i back together and finished the long list of other stuff I requested. Should be ready to collect tomorrow and the bill will be... well let's not think about that Can't wait! They said I should treat it gently for a little while due to the engine work, and bring it back in ~1000km so they can do some checks. So it'll be a while before I can thrash it and arrange tuning. It'll feel so good to drive my 335i again, it's been over 2 months... By the way would I die if I eat nothing but rice for a month?

Hey, Amber here, Just recently bought myself an 01 325i tourer in the taranaki as I've always admired them. Its not my first BMW as i had an older 318i a few years back but it is however the most modern vehicle I've owned as my other vehicles are vintage and classic. I'm not used to all the electronics and sensors yet, not to mention all the 'beeps' haha. Just thought I'd say hello. I'll put a photo up if I can figure out how. Cheers

Most don't do an E60 M5. Until they 'do' an E60 M5 . An E61 - power and practicality, can't argue with that

Great day for a drive in the Naki today, so headed out to Whanga to stretch the legs. Always wanted a shot with these old garages.

Have been looking to get a wagon for about 6 months as my daily hatch (Mondeo) just doesn't have the goods, i really wanted an e46 motorsport manual wagon with something larger than 2 litres, but i couldn't find one that suited (the search is still on) however came across this 2007 E91 Motorsport 330i Auto, NZ new model, with a whopping 195,000km on the clock, however the condition was reasonable so worth a nudge i thought. Sitting in the U-Sell lot it ran rough, and didn't want to idle, plugged in my Carly ODB2 reader and found misfire code for cal 6, rang around to get a price for coil packs and plugs, and with that mind called the owner to negotiate a price. It was a gamble but the owner dropped the price by a decent amount (way more than enough to cover 6 coils and plugs) so did the deal. On paying for the car i rang the boys at HellBM, who very kindly agreed to replace the coil on cal 6 for me at short notice. 20mins and $160 later and she purring again! Winner winner chicken dinner. Big thanks to the boys at HellBM for fitting us in, great service!

I like how they're now calling sequential gearboxes "automatics". As they are.

Just a thought while in their check the condition of the flaps in the vent these fall apart and you have one big hole. The parts cat calls it a breathe cover rear 64228377280. Looking at your photos could be hidden behind that plastic piece. In the link the fourth photo shows the vent I'm talking about. https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi2p7T8y7TWAhUBQ5QKHe8JAMAQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bimmerfest.com%2Fforums%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D569363&psig=AFQjCNHZFbSfNwXxoxrgyDG__3f1oO2K1g&ust=1506025404797425

Yes that hose connects to the top centre of the battery case. The hose has a right angle plastic piece that pushes into a hole in the battery case. As above - it is there to vent the battery to outside the car - it should be in place. All DIN batteries come with this port. They come with a bung in the hole, this is taken out & the hose inserted when the battery is installed. Can't say I have ever seen an E39 leaking water there. Other modules you mention: The front silver box (blue & white plugs) is the video module - produces TV (well it did) controls screen graphics if no Nav unit is installed, & controls the reverse camera that you are going to fit Other silver box on the left is the radio tuner & yes the black unit is the amp. Edit - the white socket is not used unless a Nav unit is in the car. It will be utilised when you fit that camera though:- The video module functions (apart from reverse camera) all operate from the blue connector.

Let there be rust! I see a prang fix with a botch up job of sealing the light. Lucky I did this because another year or so and that surface would have been toast Surface fine underneath once I wire brushed my way through

I forgot how much work was in preparation and sanding! Onto the rear end and top of the boot.

Just coz you might have been interested, even though Sedan (and it's way too late now anyway!): I put Dads E30 up for sale nearly 2 years ago. It went on Trademe for $8500 no reserve, and $9300 buy now (IIRC) - first caller was a complete muppet - thought it should be cheaper because he may have to spend money on such an old car! Second caller was a "suitable" owner -, older professional gent, collects cars, offered $8K right now, sight unseen, no questions - us in Whangarei, him in CHCH. Money went in that night, collected a month later. So certainly they are out there, but don't come up often. I think Dads would have been what you're looking for (if you want to keep it reasonably "grandpa spec"), and you may find just a touch more cash get's something really good, over something a bit average. None of them are very mint anymore, but there are some real stunners out there - I think they're going to appreciate more and more. A lot of E30's are just old shitters now - still OK cars, fun to drive etc, but the real original stunners are going to be the ones going up in value as real classics. Good luck with the search anyway!

Election talk. Everyone suddenly has an opinion and I'm f**king sick of hearing them. Can't wait for it to just be over with. Neither party will truly ruin us. The world will not end on the 24th.

The Labour Party. Having nine years to get their policies together and 8 days from the election they still don't know what they are.

And here it is team! One awesome piece of machinery dry sump system. Stage 4 pump and pan is so light - only 4cm deep! Just looks so shiny I'm like a kid in a candy store

You can calculate the torque from the power, as long as you know the engine speed. Power is just torque multiplied by the rotational speed, so to get torque just divide power by rotational speed. You will need to make sure everything is in the right units - using SI units you need rotational speed in radians per second.
