Get a sample of your oil tested. An indication of Bearing condition can be derived from sample. E.G. forum with a bit more info http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=431107

166605kms : happy one year of ownership (my first V8). So that year's gone by fast, 14,311kms, a decent chunk of change spent on maintenance, and many smiling miles driven. Every time I drive it, it puts a smile on my dial. Comfortable, quick, remarkably capable for a commode-sized car. Next up: bumper repaint (insurance - left a 'present', though left no note), 2mm stone chip in screen to be repaired (insurance), and source a new rim (slow leak from a crack). I'd planned on giving her a 'birthday' today, another good wash. Too busy with other stuff. So here's a snap marking the occasion:

Talk to Transmission Solutions in Manukau and buy the Amtex 6 speed oil of them. It's what we used BTW...you need to set the oil level in park on a level surface at 45 degrees C

OK its on! Did you know the three Holden's I now own are, and will be, appreciating faster (regardless of how ugly they are) than an EV? Did you know that one in particular has 'appreciated' by over 3x its purchase price in the 18 months and is not slowing down? And that's just one of them! Not only that but... How many times have you driven your - sorry your wife driven her - Leaf and other drivers pull along side, wind down their window and yell out things like - "Sweat ride!', 'Niiiiice!', 'sounds mean bro!', 'Is it for sale?!'"? How many times do you - sorry, your wife - get approached by enthusiasts wanting to know more about your - sorry, her - Leaf? I think we mutually agree that I drive an ugly thing. However, I'd never make my wife drive something fugly. Like a Leaf . Some friendly advice - just buy what ever you feel like, e65, e39, Tesla, Prius or whatever (actually it really doesn't matter what you fancy), and your wife will drive it. Eventually. It is probably better than the alternative! Of course this reply is totally in jest and no offence is intended!

essentially, by spending a shitload of cash with them, every year, for many years, to keep a scandi and a german on the road. EDIT: mind you, it might be like fight club, and now I've spoken about it...
