Quick clean yesterday, and for once it didn't rain overnight so it's still clean today!

yesterday I... added BMW #3 to the fleet. Come to think of it. @Haitoman we passed you in the opposite direction (Kapiti somewhere), while you were out in the M3. Only saw you at the last moment, such was my e30 reverie... Today, I took a train to Petone with my lad, to collect it. Showroom page coming soon.

Finally got around to getting my gauges transferred from old car to new, i designed and 3d printed a gauge cluster that basically snaps into the interior and surrounding panels. I had to cut the original sunglass shelf off the cigarette & button thing, which i did carefully with a coping saw, the cluster has plastic tabs which slot behind the cut down piece, and a lip which slots into the OBC unit above. At the moment im monitoring water temp and air / fuel. Plan to change the tachometer out in future.

Not terribly clean in this pic. Not many modifications planned - towbar and a bit of coding? Don't want to lower it despite the massively tall x-drive suspension, it barely clears my driveway as it is...

He has to have the internet delivered in little boxes by the rural postie, so photos take days to come in

Hi Team another small update so spent the weekend pulling apart the m60 motor of it's heads and timing system. Giving them a good scrub Assembling onto the m62 block as you will see i rtv silicone everything as i don't want any oil drips coming out. new oil filter. new knock sensors So went to try and put the PMC adapter plate on the box but realized its made for left hand drive for the starter motor. so angled grind the right side to match the left hopefully its fit. Thanks Richard

So I hate having cables everywhere and i equally hate a messy centre console storage bin. Having successfully code Apps 6NR and purchased an iPod touch to drive it all my next mession was to find a way to clean up the console. I made some slight modifications to the snap-in adaptor base plate with my dremel, mounted the iPod cable, routed it along all the existing wiring abd out ubder the piece of plastic that houses the snap-in. The result is a much cleaner, less cluttered centre console bin.

If you look at engine hours and fuel load 300,000km done on open roads is not a lot at all. My father has a Corolla that's somewhere around the 850,000km mark

If you had a scooter before, and are planning to do lots of short trips in town (like you would on a scooter?) a diesel is the last thing you want. You sound quite conscious of the repairs, and if you are I'd suggest buying something VERY different for that money. A common rail diesel turbo is a far more complicated car than SOME other options, and there can be eye-watering expensive repairs. What do you really want from a car? and what sort of use will it get?

The 18” style 42 and the bbs rx both sets still for sale. As per original post. the guu above is asking about style 135 which i dont have but know that ashley had a set on the old purple clubsport. I also got a set of rs-gt staggered 18s with re003s (off our e91 wagon) and also a set of rg-r square 18s.

Decent amount of progress in past month or two. M54B30 engine Trial fitted G220 Gearbox and standard factory manual mount sorted. Gearshift linkages too long so shortening those 60mm Then measured driveshaft and having front section lengthened 180mm Bumpers are all now Fiberglassed back together and all mounts glassed on, now for some sand/fill work and painting. Porsche 911 SC Brake booster modified and installed XYZ Coilovers fitted to front struts and installed Front wheel bearings were shot so fitted new wheel bearing hubs Medium Case LSD fitted Front seats are being recovered with Factory Pacific Blue material, hope to get those back this week. Modified the E30 steering linkage to suit the Z3 rack but it's just not working, hitting exhaust manifold hard. Picked up a Holden Astra linkage on Friday which I have started modifying to fit while engine is out, will get that sorted this week . I suspect manifold may still need some massaging. Lots of other things happening along the way to keep things moving, engine currently out while sorting the heater lines and also refitting clutch slave cylinder and gearbox plus sorting Radiator and hoses which I think I know what i'm doing with that. Hope to have engine and gearbox back in for the last time on Sunday if time allows, then will get the exhaust made up. After that its the Wiring harness, which will hopefully be sorted by my Auto Electrical guy. Steady progress, project has escalated a lot from original plans :), was something my son and I are building for him to learn to drive in.... yeah that's not going to happen!

Something we have done with a couple of E30`s and an E34 is the M54B30 Conversion. What we can supply is: M54B30 with ancilliaries ZF Box E36 Arm MS43 DME with ews delete/manual/EU2 tune E30 pedal set with E46 Accelerator Drive by wire pedal. Necessary wiring. Not to dissimilar to an M52B28 conversion.

cant beat M52 for bang for buck, reliability, good power upgrade, light weight, easy swap, a million people done it so plenty of data on the internet what works and what doesnt. i can bang a conversion out in a weekend now once you have all the bits. Really comes down to budget, and i defiantley run with the school of thought while the motor (regardless of waht you put in) is out, change all the gaskets, seals, o rings, spark plugs, etc. If not everything then at the very least especially the stuff on the bottom like sump gaskets and rear main seal, timing cover that are hard to get to once the motor is in (again, regardless of the engine you choose. makes it a lot more enjoyable once finished if everything works as it should, doesnt leave a mess on your freinds driveways, etc. $5k will get you a fully certified M52/ZF swap including all the other stuff to think about
