All cars looking great, but your E31 is looking amazing now. So staunch.
  4. if insurance will cover it (without glass cover), id get a genuine one fitted at the dealer and just pay the excess.

    Quick rant thread.

just like f**king smokers biffing their butts our the window. f**k you.
  6. ah nuts, already have a cam follower on the way from the states. cheers though. Yeah its easy to retune them. Will be looking to get a stage 2 revo tune done after i replace the intake and downpipe.
  7. looks like its all been packed up and gone. http://maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78119&highlight=abandoned&page=15
  8. thats an ex-member car. DaveO? Gorgeous looking car with some good features/spec. great color too, his photos really do not do it justice imo.
  9. yeah there are a few synpowers. best to check on the bottle which standard it meets. http://synpower.com.au/products-range/
  10. oh, the general consensus is that the tails look better in person than in photos. i didnt like them when i saw the photos but theyve grown on me a lot. also helps the car stand out in the sea of golfs with red, round tails. The edition 30 and pirelli models, other than having more power and various other cosmetic differences, have body colored lower trim. Its an interesting choice being unpainted, makes the golf look a bit cheap really. I might color code when i can be bothered and have some spare cash.
  11. the golf GTI is a hell of a lot of fun to drive. its also built and drives better than any corolla.
  12. i really like the look of the MSport model, but not so much the normal ones.
  13. yeah but the non-GTI golf uses a different, 7 speed, prone to failure DSG box to the GTI. I have a MK5 GTI with DSG. 161,000KM jap import. has service history, including DSG and runs like clockwork. There are some things to keep an eye on, like the HPFP cam follower and turbo diverter valve as they like to fail, but other than that if its fully serviced youre good to go. Keep in mind with imports though that dealers are shifty c**ts and often wont do the cambelt and waterpump on the low KM ones. This is mine. Highly specced, heated leather, auto everything, HID, Shadow Blue. Has some mods from japan. I love it.
  14. ive used synpower in my past few cars, including all my BMWS (M50, M52 and S50 engines) with great success. Reduced oil use, and made the engines quieter. In the case of the M3 it was also effective in cleaning some of the varnish under the valve cover.
  15. ah trusty old M parallels.
  16. yeah, pretty sure it was. beautiful little car.
  17. followed an old white 2002 around sh58 for a bit today, fark it was tidy! theres a red E34 manual 525ix in wellington. see it all the time.

    I Stole an E34!

just because its available as a part in RealOEM doesnt mean it was fitted. RealOEM gives the part number for the OEM LSD for my old 323i E36 which i know for sure was an open diff.
  19. engine bay is looking good The leather looks like it needs a damn good clean though, but otherwise looks like a good buy.

    I Stole an E34!

not according to the datacard. its also a UK import

tbh id keep it as a cruiser rather than throwing money hand over fist at it like you have planned. those mods arent going to do a sh*t load to make it better to drive when its gutless. Better off just maintaining it, maybe lowering it and leaving it.
  22. ooo, i like that one on the M6 wheels more than i thought i would. Not keen on the BBS on the 740 tbh.
  23. ive seen this around a few times, looks and sounds glorious, but youre going to be pushing sh*t up hill with your bare hands trying to move it for 25k. 15k maybe due to condition, but most are around 8-10k these days. 28k can get you an an E39 M5 or even an E60 M5.
  24. that little breather vent is well known for falling to bits. Mine broke when i did the vanos on my old E39. Easy to replace, the part is available from the dealer for cheap, but the prick is when it breaks off and bits fall into the radiator.
