yeah the one in your sig photo, plates RJxxxx or something. Didnt really notice the wheels but i dont think it was on bottlecaps, mightve been weaves.
-
i keep spotting what i think is your old E30 coupe, Andy. Its looking very good, much head turning.

side lights are f**king terrible. enough to light a dash up like the lights are on, but zero added visibility in the dark. Saw an old hiace on the motorway last night, in the pitch black, in the rain, with side lights on. Was almost invisible.
-
Wow, poor car
-
because maybe i dont like to piss money away sitting in traffic in something uncomfortable and thirsty? Ill take a cheap to run, comfortable, modern daily any day.
-
are these like most modern cars and have super crucial electrical modules sitting on the floor pan under carpet?
-
the new Mini headlights which emit a really strong, super bright blue light at a distance. really distracting. f**k it, might as well just say new Minis. How can you get away with calling something that makes my Fit look tiny, a Mini?
-
Call me stupid but is the original listing even a "genuine" M3 GTR? Has a lot more aftermarket bits than BMW bits, or is that normal for a GTR?
-
damnit, wouldve been in touch in a heartbeat if i wasnt so attached to my golf. was looking for one of these Good luck, dont imagine itll hang around long at that price
-
Try doing the coil pack on a V12 merc, its all combined into one big unit (per bank) for a sweet sum of $3600+gst or so each. Nopenopenope

Sounds like normal #merctax to me, shits crazy. Be thankful its not got an AMG badge on it. Small protip too, the dealer makes f**k all margin on parts, the mothership really puts the squeeze on them. Not much money in genuine parts these days.

haha, hope he took the wheels with him, the hella flush stance kids on facebook would pay some pennies for them
-
i reckon those wheels wouldnt look terrible if they were silver. I still think 10k for an E30 is just silly.
-
and unfortunately this does happen from time to time. Need to get customer permission before extended road test, and the tech is out for a long period of time. Its a big PITA.
-
speed dependant steering + power steering issue = requirement to check operating at speed. I'd bet the owner of the car would lose his sh*t if the tech had driven the 3KM or so just to get to a 100KPH zone, the southern motorway, plus he would then have to get to the nearest offramp, and then the return trip. Getting that car from 50kph to 90kph and back would be a matter of seconds. I dont have a problem with what the tech did, looks like a standard road test to me. I have more of a problem with the customer getting his apology, free groom, and then still dragging the company through the mud.

lol i think you read it wrong

Your link is deceptive...

That BMW M Performance steering wheel is the tits.
-
unless you intend to convert to manual immediately, i think buying a broken SMG1 E36 would be a world of pain.
-
The Golf is actually worse than that, the scale changes from 80kph onwards, meaning no markings for 90kph or 110kph. You can get these into the USA now, as long as its over 25 years old or so.

The "real" one has bit of an iffy history, so id be very closely checking the receipts for the engine work done. Its also a bit scruffy body and interior wise.
-
insurance might throw their toys, best ask them first. technically its a VERY modified 528i in their eyes. You would also be well exceeding their book value for a 528i.
-
im utterly slutted. i tried to buy this from him back when i sold my M3 but he would never reply to my attempts at communication. It disappeared for a couple of months and now its relisted again and im not in a position to buy it now. Theres been a couple of threads about it. Make sure you get a thorough inspection was one thing mentioned. Something about a cracked and maybe leaking sump. Its a reshell for sure, because the original M5 was crashed and repaired in SA, imported over but the repairs didnt meet NZ criteria (even though it was apparently done by authorised agent in SA), so the original owner reshelled into 528i shell.

At the end of the day though, 20k for a low km M6? Cant be that many about, even if it does need some TLC it seems a reasonable price.
