There was a bit of a hiccup so, unfortunately, it'll need to come off and be straightened (those with sharp eyes will notice the driver's side tips are a bit low) but it has done the business sound-wise and performance doesn't seem hampered in any way. iPhone vid doesn't do it justice but you can hear a touch of exotic now the banks are mixing! jeffbebe 1559 Report post Posted April 24, 2015 Repinned the broken MAF plugs. Some of the pins just wouldn't budge (even with correct AMP pin removal tool) so I ended cutting the plug off one side. In so doing I must have squished a couple of the pins as they wouldn't stay in the new plug when I connected it. Have fixed it but next time the plugs need replacing, so will the pins. Still, it'll be good for a few years!!Here's my best guess for wiring colours in case anyone else that has to do this. When I watched the vid with your Magnaflows I ewwwddd and ahhhhhhdd and all my work mates must've thought I was watching porn cause I got some funny looks...lol. Guess I kinda was.. I am hoping to get a set of used Ferrari 458 boxes once I determine whether they'll fit so mine will be up for grabs. I remember watching a vid of an E38 750i with the most amazing sound. A lot of certain people forget this is the kinda work you need to do on such older modern cars. jeffbebe 1559 Report post Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) Suspension's finally complete. All new front and rear. Sport shocks, csi bump stops and rear reinforcement plates and Eibach springs. What a difference! The old girl feels like new, so much grip in the corners. She's pretty low so the ride's a bit harsher than the floaty EDC but not much different to the mtech II suspension in my old E39 540i. She earned herself some new rubber on the fronts too. Resulting issues... Not sure I'll be able to navigate my steep drive if I fit my csi front spoiler... Too much low!! And on the odd hard bump thanks to our crappy roads, I get a bong like a check engine. Happened prior to overhaul too. No light so possibly just a loose electrical connection. Any ideas? After a couple of days one of the longer bolts caught the expanding lock on the left side handbrake assembly... And mangled it. Schoolboy error. Annoyed with myself. Lucky it's an auto!
