look at the ones in australia. 20" Chrome rims, Fart can, Lots of stickers, Lambo doors, m3 badge. ricers are moving into out cars. I have seen some in auckland too, they exist but hard to come across. reason why I wanted to move to benz. the author of the article is an @sshole too. he buys an 5 series and all of a sudden expects the who world to be his friends. Some stupid little kid makes fun of him so he gets so affected he writes an article about bmw drivers are bad, most bmw drivers are very good, maintain their cars, drive cautiously and wouldn't ever risk doing stupid menuvers on open public roads. In 1980s-1990s UK (especially London), BMWs had a poorly stereotyped reputation as being the vehicle of choice for a specific cultural group most commonly consisting of pimps, pushers and dealers. Certainly it did seem at the time the case that any 5- or 7-series in black with dark tinted windows was driven by someone looking like a cheap rapper, living on a council estate and dishing out dodgy handshakes while parked illegally. I'll leave you to work out for yourself what 'BMW' was claimed to stand for... Personally I don't think BMW drivers are any worse (or any better) than drivers of other marques. The difference is that BMWs are still recognisable as being BMWs, while so many other manufacturers now produce models that are so generic as to have possibly come from anywhere. As such, when a BMW is seen to be driven poorly, people comment on it because they can add credence to their fury by declaring the manufacturer, something they can't do in the case of many models from Japan, Ford, or elsewhere.

More progress for this coming weekend : - New timing chain tensioner (preventative maintenance, and should quieten the idle down a bit) - New rear upper control arms. LH side ball joint is shot. Causes a rear shimmy at around 100+ km/h and a bit of nervousness in my experience. - Relocating the Inlet air temp sensor. As the sensor is built in to the MAF, during summer, the sensor does get terribly heat soacked. This means excessive ignition retard, and more fuel resulting in 540i performance :-P More on this coming soon...

^i think it is a sign! At least give it a go, you will never know if u dont make a start now is the perfect chance to take that first step. For me i got really sick that forced me to stop for a week or so then it was a matter of taking steps forward one at a time. I did take a few steps back but still kept going and its going pretty good so far.

So yesterday the missus said she spent all afternoon giving it a good clean inside that included vacuum, windows, and cleaning all the leather with lux soap, then the wheels a good scrub with a toothbrush and then a wash on the outside. So when I asked her how long it took her she replied with two hours to which I replied you must of done a sh*t job if it only took you that long.... She wasn't overly happy with me after I said that... But after a quick inspection I was right! Wheels still dirty my finger was wiping it off, water marks all over the car aswell as the lower rear bumper still dirty and a big dirty spot on the bonnet. Inside wasn't much better. Seats still had marks on them that would of come out quite easily and black marks on the door handles. Why is it they bitch and moan about us keeping the house clean when they can't even look after a car???? The mind boggles....and you know what I'm redoing in the weekend :|

I tend to stick to the speed limits, I don't begrudge people who travel marginally above the limit but they know the consequences of being caught. My main issue is with the "war on speed" which seems to be going on. I wish there would be such publicised and energetic campaigns by the police on burglary, public drunkenness/fighting, petty crime such as graffiti and drug crime. I think the police are just creating a simmering sense of resentment among the public with this kind of thing whilst the perception is that the streets are becoming more unsafe for joe-public. I certainly have less respect for them and their leadership with each lowering of the sensible 10km/h tolerance we currently have.
