Hey fellow bimmersport members! Up for sale is a 97 323i auto 284K in Hellrot Red Has got a current WOF & REG till later on this year Body is really straight and only has a few paint marks that need a slight touch up (one on front left corner and one on the rear) Comes with alarm/immobilizer which is F**** Loud! so its a good one Dont let the KM be too much of a deciding factor as this car performs really well for the mileage it has done which has mostly been country road driving & doesn't behave like a car of that mileage at all, always starts first pop no matter what The interior is in excellent condition, no hood lining sag whatsoever, nice woodgrain finish in certain spots, Sunroof operates perfectly & the lining retracts as it should. (rear door cards could do with a fabric change as it has lost its stick, + little burn of some sort on the rear bench seat) apart from that is really tidy! All electrics work too. Plenty of tread all around! car will fly through a few more wofs Any further questions please pm me or contact me on 02102706283 ASKING PRICE $2,600 $2,300 $2,200

Okay have spent last hour or so getting all ducks in a row, think I am up to date. Those that PMd me, i messaged some of you back, some of you i didn't, but you should all see your orders and current status on the first post of this thread. If there are any issues you can see, please let me know, including if you want spaces between your letters and numbers or not. I recommend that you don't, most that I have seen with the space would be better without Also, those that said you were keen, have also messaged you, if you can PM me back, maybe even if you don't want them, would be good. I do also recommend getting the frames for those of you that haven't ordered them. usually get 3 or 4 people wanting them after its all over and they get their plates and realise they don't want to drill their nice new plates. Up to you guys!!! Cheers Guys Andy

Fully reassembled car, fixed leaking radiator hose (clamp wasnt tight enough and hose was slightly out of place) put about 30KM on it tonight and everything is working well, and drives well. Hard to tell if its any more powerful/faster, but its not slow, not at all. Finally, vanos rebuild, complete.

For the money and if you want awd for winter sports you can't go past a legnum vr4. Gearboxes are the same as the equivalent Evo of the year which is quite strong and the smallish twin turbo system a 2.5l means a lot of torque. They can be had for very cheap just got to shop around for one which has been well maintained. The engine bay is awfully cramped. Lots of space for your gear too. They are fairly thirsty though and because of the fairly small turbos they will run out of puff at high rpm. Some of the later models had the ayc diff I think? Which was helpful for getting power down if its slippery but also came with some problems if you got the Evo 4 ayc. Looks like this discussion is mostly dead though!! In Subaru's defense the 3l flat 6 engine is great and the 2005+ models are great to drive. I hear their awd system is quite good for grip .. Of course the awd bias might not be the ideal if you want to go fast fast but they do very well if you want sensible traction. There was some comparison between various awd systems of that year awd wagons and the Subaru placed quite well amongst Euros etc. I think the test was how far up a increasing snowy slope you could get ..

http://my350z.com/forum/other-vehicles/54805-i-have-been-humiliated-by-my-friends-subaru-forester-xt.html An E39 540i isn't geared for hard acceleration - it has loooooooooooong gears that it spends a fair amount of time pulling through, because of the immense torque. The Forester is geared much shorter, and has the advantage of AWD... plus when Car and Driver did the acceleration test, they probably weren't kind to the car! Plus the turbo gives it a much better power/torque curve shape than a 540i - it'll appear much less peaky. Put a short diff in an E30 325i and see how awesome the acceleration gets, and it's not even turbo charged.

What? So it can only be driven for 20,000kms?? Then what.. Edit nvm. Read it completely wrong. Thought it said that it can be run for 20k without issues..Lol thought it might start breaking apart after that lol

Sounds like the opinion of someone that has read about, yet not driven an SMG, like usual.

Thread dig of the year award goes to... BTW I painted my brake rotors gold, makes it look like a touring car. Have to re-paint them every weekend for some reason though?
