G'day, Took the old girl today for a ride to the city and to watch the sunset. I have owned her for three months, and it's an absolute pleasure driving her. She does get a little extra attention, unfortunately.

Pulled off crank pulley on the E38, looks pretty sick so hoping thats the source of my engine problems, never thought to look there, had no idea they werent a solid piece of metal like the engines I am used to! Rubber damper is looking a bit sad. Not even going to bother calling BMW tomorrow, I can see BMW USA dealer pricing at $700NZ odd so will be well over $1000 for a pulley here. Found one online for $70US Febi Bilstein, planning to make an order there of parts for other cars so may just get that. Then cleaned the bird poos, kowhai seed pods and leaves from whatever the other tree is off it and its come up good!

Hi all, Well Ive just come back form a successful week of racing over 1000kms over the week that is Targa NZ and Its the longest rally of its kind in the world. Between my wider family we had 5 entries of 4 BMWs (2 E30 M3's one E30 325 and my compact) and one Subaru wrx comming from Australia. The compact Finished 4th overall out of 60 something cars, my brother Carl finished 3rd in classics, My old man in the M3 had engine issues relating to oil consumption and the other M3 had a major engine mechanical problem resulting in bits of piston littering the road! Just wanted to say thanks to Ray from HellBM for his help leading up to the event, loaning my parts to hget the engine running and the offer for a new P/S pump during the event. Hes a good bugger! Kayne Barrie from Kayne Barrie Motorsport for also helping out with the power steering issue and the loan of parts. He was up out of bed until 1am on Monday helping us out. Another good bugger! Gavin Bellers from Hi Velocity for his work with the new S54 transplant, he worked through multiple problems and we've ended up with a good package fore the event. sh*t it was a long week, glad its over but man it was fun!

Will probably just keep the Arduino base so it's simple for anyone to modify. Link publish all the data you need to make your own system in their help menus. When I approached them to ask if comms was possible to their ECU they pointed me to everything I needed. Anyone wanting a pre-developed LCD display can just use one of theirs. In my case I wanted to monitor and alarm on bad situations hence developing my own (plus I wanted a colour LCD). I susect there won't be an enormous amount of interest - I'm just making the offer in case anyone has been thinking they want their own custom display with data and/or monitoring not currently available directly from the Link products. I'm certainly not trying to make a commercial product to compete with theirs...

Installed JB4 last week and promptly destroyed the OEM charge pipe. Factory plastics don`t like the extra boost. Replacement with a BMS N54 Chargepipe seems to have done the trick. Dechromed as a sideline. Took her for a blast on a new road at the back of Hatfields beach over the Northern Gateway. Everything behaved as it should.

That sucks. Sorry if I sent you down the wrong path! I wonder if they've done wheels before because the two wheel places I've used have both cleaned them by sandblasting (outsourced).

Thanks Andy, will keep you in mind if i can't find some. They shouldn't, genuine belts mount on the seat, but I suppose most E30's have been through more than one set of belts in their lifetime and the chance of aftermarket belts being installed is pretty high. One last pic for today, the after shot ...

Touchdown TD144s with an aggressive look on e30s. Multi 4s, these rims and tyres are 99% brand new. Have had them sitting on my m50 e30 as it isn't certed and have driven maybe 5 kms on them if that. The rub in the rear but with a smaller profile tyre would fit mint. Perfect fitment for e30s. $1250 Ono! Tyres alone were $900 and rims were $850.

Instead of fabricating your own solution, have you though about grabbing a hinge system and locking machism from something like a ford or holden ute ? Just steal it all and patch it in. Done

Taking my labouring missus to the maternity hospital in an E30 and bringing home my shiny new baby boy in the E39. Winning!

Wow. OP just take it back to who ever serviced it and point out the problems. Much more productive then every one having a cry wank over poor service/mental instability.

Finished the bonnet insulation. And it's only a small thing, but one of favourite parts I've bought so far - new key blanks with the little light that actually works! Much OEM!
