Awesome car. Although if it were mine I would have a custom bonnet bulge, instead of cutting the hole.

For a 15yo car, i would say 153k is low mileage.

hahaha yep, only no 1JZ. Might chop the roof, but that's much later on. Oh and probably no shark teeth

Spent most of the week trying to get through 30+ years of paint and paint repair. So paint stripping is a slow slow process, but will get there by the time the car is ready for its engine conversion in 2 weeks (hopefully) Oxidisation is coming along nicely, will let it sit for a few days and then give it a light sand and some treatment.

Your other experiences in life are probably very narrow and confused as well

i think if you bought it as a run about, keep it at that. once you start tinkering with it, it will never end, and by the time you're done with the suspension and $800 later, you might want/need to do the cooling system, then you might suddenly feel like repowering it, then msport interior-ing it, blah blah. if it drives, just get a wheel alignment and check oil levels. meh

can i suggest tidying up that front plate with just a bit of black paint (over the scratched up Y) and possibly custom make some decals in black or something to stick over the blue NZ and fern sides? the blue doesnt go well with the clean silver and chrome theme IMO. pretty pedantic but hey, you seem to be running low on ideas so why not??

I think its a great price. a few hundred dollars isnt important when you find a car like this. you just have to have it. am i right or am i right?

Nik, moved into the WTB forum for you, more suitable section and will be seen by more peeps. I have flywheel on my old M20B20 out of my race car - has run with both motronic and l-jet systems, so not sure if it's a facelift flywheel or not... but could be yours for a reasonable price..?

Got bored and decided to experiment with the grills. I had a couple from the spare parts car with good chrome outer rings and thought I'd try some chrome paint on the inner black grills. Looks quite striking even if I do say so myself..lol One more to go but you get the idea. Will finish it tomorrow.

Classic. Was about to remove the fan and found a present from the previous owner. This must have been in since I bought 8er a year and a half ago. I guess a bump must have moved it so that it began interfering with the fan. The good news is the fan is fine. No more clattering noise!! Was right underneath so never noticed it before. Don't think the wife will be pleased when she finds out this was the reason we drove back from Napier on the hottest day of the year with no AC!!!
