Lucky to get a golden ticket to the M festival at Hampton Downs today. Got to drive the M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, X5M and X6M......a few laps on the short new circuit, some gymkhana and braking exercise/comps and the 3 laps of the main circuit in each car. Soggy conditions but still given chance to give them their head. M2 a hoot and the engine a real sweet mill. M3 instantly felt special - my pick of the day. Wanted to like the M5 more but sound not as inspiring and a handful in the wet! Got the itch now........ Very lucky boy....

That is hands down the sexiest car you could buy in 1993, but now its a collectors car, it needs plenty of love and money, anything less would be criminal.you cant compare it to a modern, mass produced M car.

Haha yeah i saw that was you. Maybe he tested them himself and realized they weren't, hence why he never re-listed it.

Assuming it has never been in accident and had a repair! Or been submerged, or driven on salted roads, or parked at the beach, etc. Galvanizing is good but its not magic unicorn good, still pays to check.

Spray painting isn't really a good idea, I did this on my E36 but as soon as something gets on it and you touch it, or clean the rear window and bump the trim it will mark. I ended up wrapping it with black vinyl, a much more practical repair that can be wiped clean since its a place that dust builds up, especially if you have the windows down.

If anyone is interested, I have a new version of bimmersport at 114.31.212.141, you can test this by changing your hosts file. If logging in, you have you use your screen name rather than your account name. When I do the change for real I will select username as the default and this will become your screen name again if you changed it at any time in the past. If you don't know how to do this or what I am talking about, here is a screenshot:

there wont be any pics on this forum.. try a google search or just other forums from the states for more pictures. vinyl wrapping them is easy enough with patience and good vinyl. buy extra incase you mess up but its not permanent damage so you have room for error here and there. came across this awesome link on a google search http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=769012

We regularly have an older E class in at work from an Embassy that is a protection version. Only the drivers window rolls down, and only half way. All the others are fixed. The glass is a good couple of inches thick and everything weighs a ton. Doors feel like they are made of concrete. It has weird things like a PA system, fire suppression system, and run flats.
