Finding out a Cherry diesel engine, air filter fits E36 and E39 perfectly. Useless piece of information for the day!

E39 M5 > E55 / E60 M5 I think the E39 is a no brainer E60 M5 doesn't strike me as a good investment. Nor the E55, while I like them, their a bit iffy inside and do suffer from some of MB quality issues of the period. The E39 offers a proper manual gearbox and has a V8 engine sound that soothes the ear, rather than that headache inducing racket the M5 V10 makes. I suspect the E39 M5 will hold value, if not increase from this point on in, high teens is as low as I've seen them go on average, but most are well into the 20s.

So I recently acquired this dereged 1993 NZ new 540i for a little over a grand and drove it up from Rotorua. I will probably be tidying it up and daily driving it. Good things: Clean interior No rust Fairly straight body Rebuilt engine Beautiful transmission NOT SO GOOD THINGS Needs new suspension (cut springs) Needs new suspension bushes for compliance Needs new brakes all round Needs new air intake boot Viscous fan missing Sunroof switch broken. Needs revin. Anyone who has e34 parts feel free to get in contact. Especially suspension or a viscous fan. Here are some pics

Not sure but the owner bought this from Dunedin - sound familiar? And Peter - I think my neighbour owns the E55 you test drove - Euroland did great business from us three :-)

I have a good viscous fan from an e46. If it fits you can have it.

I use 95 (Z) in everything that has a spark plug that I own, including cars, rideon, chain saws, weed eaters & mowers. I wouldn't put Gull or blended fuels in anything I own.

The link between wife's happiness and car ownership is greatly overstated. Keep the car and address other drivers of happiness!

Don't have too much fun with it, I've had mine for about 2 months and left rear tyre is already showing the belt in some places Shopping for new tyres already, at least it's an excuse to ditch the runflats.
