1. Borrowed a cylinder bore gauge. 2. Went to zebra wreckers in Manukau for a m62b44 block. 3. Pulled engine out of a 540i at zebra. 4. Removed heads. 5. Checked bore with pistons still in and all good. 6. Pissed with rain so moved engine undercover. 7. Dismantled everything off the block as its the only bit I need. 8. Found cracks where the starter motor mounts. 9. Went home empty handed after wrenching for hours.

As Andrew said above - check the flow specs. Cheapy water blasters boast on their pressure output, look at their flow specs & it is minimal. From memory our old Karcher water blaster is about 9 or 11 (can't recall) L/M. It is years old & was expensive at the time & bought on it's spec. Pressure is nothing without flow.

Pressure AND flow rate are important, my home made petrol one is 3000 psi, 11 L/M and it does the job. Beware of cheapy ones that sacrifice flow rate for pressure, it will take forever to get anything clean! Also pay attention to the gun, if its too short you will end up crippled. Have fun

In the run-up to the election, National are throwing money in every conceivable direction. Like 'em or hate 'em, you can thank Labour for that. If National were sitting on a significant majority at the polls, there wouldn't be promises of spending (which they're unlikely to be allowed to forget, should they win). Of course, if National don't win, Labour will theoretically have access to that money. Neither major party has a complete picture, or appears to offer anything by way of trying to see a bigger picture. At least we are all-but guaranteed a situation where the support of a minor party will be required. That may temper any activities and policy enactment.

Got my MAF back from BAVREST in the states, looks as good as new. Hasn't made a huge difference as delving a little deeper I think it's my C191 plug that's causing me problems.

Yup 5 weeks in. Still early days but there's always a reason in my head not to have one as 20 years is a pretty decent smoking career. To keep 'busy' i finally finished an old kitset model I had stored away.

My e28 is soon to be getting a M30B35. As most of you will have seen, I got a donor e34 with a good M30 and manual gearbox that's done 170,000 kms which will be going in. Engine, gearbox etc came out of the e34 over the weekend. Have been collecting parts over the last couple of weeks including Mtech rear spoiler, arches, and parts to repair some damage on the front from getting hit (working with the guy's insurance to sort it). Also just installed AP springs about a week ago. The car as it is now: Some of the damage: I'm pretty rubbish at build threads but I'll do my best to update as I go for those interested. Hoping to have the swap done by the end of April.

I will do in a couple weeks time. Currently my leg is in a cast so not quite able to right now. If it's any help the shifter on the 265 is sheet metal as opposed to the 260 which is the aluminium rod type one. Also this hasn't been updated in a long while but a lot has happened on this car since my last post. They say pictures say a thousand words so here goes. Full coilovers front and rear. They still need some work, I need shorter springs to go as low as I'd like and keep the helpers. Currently the fronts are wound all the way down. Not looking to lay frame but a touch lower would be nice. The wheels are Remotec 16x8s, fully polished and painted by myself. The centers I did by doing a black base coat and then dusting silver over to do a shadow chrome type effect. The clear coat kind of messed up the silver and they came out darker than I wanted but fine for now. It's never perfect. I also got a new body which will be getting painted and everything will be swapped over which I hope do have done well before the end of the year.

I have a Nilfisk 120.7 , its very average, not enuff puff but the filters in it help with rinsing off soap and avoided watermarks haha. 130 is apparently better.

Have a Alto before they became Nilfisk. Was a high end consumer model. First on went back on warranty. Second one has done two pressure regulators. Would recommend if using one for any length f time flow plenty of water through flow through them post blasting session. And don't leave them sitting for any length of under full pressure. Been 6 years now on same pressure regulator but I certainly won't buy this brand again.

Don't buy a karcher. They used to be excellent, I used to own one, but in the last few years did massive cost cutting and move manufacturing to China. The impellers are now plastic and constantly fail, usually just after your 12 month warranty expires. For the same price you can buy a Nilfisk. Not amazing but better than the Karcher. I have a Nilfisk - you can come over and test it out to see what kind of power you need.

Fiscal conservatives really get my goat. Also, Governments should not be run like businesses. Bureaucracy is the exact opposite of capitalist dreams.

Election talk. Everyone suddenly has an opinion and I'm f**king sick of hearing them. Can't wait for it to just be over with. Neither party will truly ruin us. The world will not end on the 24th.

Little update. Got new headlights, decided I wanted it to look more modern so got some LED's Before: After A smoke test revealed a failed grommet in the back of the intake manifold, hopefully that is the reason it stalls when returning to idle. A scan revealed the airbag module is faulty along with the oil level sensor. Parts are on there way... Got an OEM tow bar complete with towing module from Ray. It's in, just need to extend the loom to make it to the LCM.

776 days smoke free for me (I have an app for that!) and lovin' it. So, just over two years. I've saved about $13,975 (at the old price of ~$20 per pack) which is a real bonus. I love every minute of being smoke free and have no desire or temptation to ever smoke again. I feel guilty if I wake up having dreamed about smoking but also relieved that is was only a dream. Food tastes better, beer tastes better! And nowadays with the level of social isolation expected of smokers it's great that I don't have to leave a social setting just to go and have a cigarette. Can't believe it took me over 20 years to decide to kick the damn habit. There's noting at all good about smoking but i couldn't see that (through the smoke) when I was a smoker. I can assure people that you don't need cigarettes to cure boredom, do something with your hands or relieve stress - they're just excuses to avoid the effort of quitting.
