I've had it done on mine not too long ago by Auto Trans ltd. They did a great job. Its definitely not lifetime fluid, don't fall for that crap. It's quite a big job, they ended up replacing the trans pan and 2 other filters along with the fluid as part of the service. Came up to under $1200 from memory. Not cheap but definitely worth doing for these transmissions. noticed the shifts become much smoother afterwards too

The Cabrio has a different part number also. The shape of the mounting triangle is different from a sedan compact coupe etc i believe. The m3 seems to have the more rounded one like after market m sport one's I've seen. Were as the standard one is rectangular shaped and buckle looking.

Yea, wiring is not a problem - its the cosmetics of the housing I'm worried about. I don't want two different styled mirrors on the same car.

would consider it but high kms and the few issues means it would have to be a very good price otherwise there are plenty of better options on trademe with the huge influx of new imports ex japan

Good luck with sale Niven. Realise you're under time pressure but a clean and vacuum go a long way! Presentation matters It's a nice vehicle, but I think you are listing it too high to achieve a quick sale - especially with the listed niggles. c.f. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1449973827.htm

at least two different versions for the wiring, according to the panel beater who replaced mine when they were stolen. uncertain if there's a diff between pre facelift and LCI versions.

That's a bit deep and philosophical for a car form Mike!!

It's been a while, not much to say really except the car's off the road at the moment because of a dodgy DME (ECU). In the meantime I've been replacing the wiring loom in the trunk, it's common for the wires from the lid to the main body to wear and break or short (you should check yours if you have an e36 or e39). Anyway, the e36 replacement "repair" loom from BMW (61-12-8-391-788) comes with wire tails and silly little solder connectors so I replaced those with a proper plug. How they come: Spades clamped on ready to solder: Finished plugs: Trunk lid is now done and back together, including routing the existing spoiler cable. Now I need to do the chassis side which will be a little less convenient!

You're right. Nothing to do with a 335i!

It is great that BMW are still contacting and supporting drivers of these now really old cars.
