I happened to be at a Repco today, and with the sale discount, 20L comes out to ~$175NZD.

Every 540i I see reminds me of this thread: It's a nice car, but good luck to the seller at that price point...

Most late model Euro cars don't have dipsticks these days...apart from the one behind the wheel. They are now going a little further and no more sump plugs. There is a plug, but if you remove it you need to replace the sump. And this is happening now on some Euro's. Not had it on a BMW yet, but it will no doubt come. It's a bit like the use once bolts that now prevail within the industry. At this stage I've only seen it on the VW Audi range with plastic sumps.

I'd say there is a market- depending on the cost per unit. Ron is likely correct about the WTCC rules, but people spent years putting M50 intake mani's onto their M52's, so f**k logic and yay carbon intake! It won't even have to make more power, the placebo effect (and bling factor) alone will sell it.

Took some scrap into Macaulays Pnth last week had 80kgs all sorts light panel, pipe, car seat frames etc got $22.80 for it. Not sure how they rate a car body for price though. If you can't get anyone to come and collect it release a bit of agro on it cut it up stack it in a trailer and take it to them problem solved.

E39 unit is different. The e46 unit (as pictured) has a ridge on the front face about 2/3 up - to match the dash. The E39 has a flat face.

Already have the 911sc Booster and it's fine, bolts straight in stud wise, clevis and rod needs extending so just dealing with that now. Have my steering rack spacers sorted for the Z3 rack, hope to sort revised power steer lines next week as they don't fit and the pump end fitting is wrong on the supply side.

Yea, the minister for war suggested I postpone spending any more money till after our holiday, so doing the trans and diff maintenance on both cars will have to wait a couple of months.

Almost everyone charges these days. Steel hasn’t been worth the diesel to pick it up in 6 plus years (I work in the waste industry). Try Macaulay metals, as far as I know they are the only direct steel exporters left in the region, with yards in both Seaview and Palmerston North

That's the selector shaft seal on the L/H side of the gearbox- common leak issue on the older cars

Any engine derived from a race design should consider rod bearings as a service item, among other things.

I'm sorry I couldn't help you with the PPI now that the business has closed due to my retirement. These vehicles are / can be quite problematic when not serviced correctly by time and or mileage. Especially when coming X Japan and the UK. I hope all goes well for you and feel free to phone for any advice..... actually.. give me a call tomorrow

Yup, lots of M5x engines being used in the BMW 2 Litre Championships which would probably benefit from a plenum designed for the 2 Ltr WTCCs. Plus would look tits and sound orgasmic, both big plusses. All comes down to $$$s at the end of the day, which I know will depend on how many you can sell.. chicken and egg. Ball park figure?

Nice example, mileage is creeping up there, appears to be fairly tidy overall, these tourings are such nice cars, testament to the correct way to make a car last a long long time. Anyone on here own this? Sometimes i feel almost tempted to part with my E46 and cruise a daily E36 again....but E46's are just as fun IMO. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1529197169.htm?rsqid=3c4017fac8404a04b7325901a58bbaee

I had an Aveger Tiger, mine had twin Webbers, pop up pistons, ported head a cam and long tube headers. Supposedly made well over 100 hp. I sold it in 85 to buy a yellow Mazda RX4 coupe.

Hey team Probably a long shot but I'm need of a Motorsport front bumper for E34. Part is no longer available through BMW Germany unfortunately. Cheers Roo
