It's very nice indeed. But there was a Diamond Schwarz one that was asking 25k in Rotorua which was in very good condition too. And I thought that was really testing the market. $50k... IMO I would rather buy a normal E30 coupe shell, put a S54 in it, run it with just two seats and half a cage. Or Spend it all on hookers and blow.

Hi all, I'm Josh from Auckland - a qualified auto sparky by trade. Strangely my love for BMW's really stemmed from working on them before anything else - though that's not to say it's the only reason now. I've embarked on a project to restore a 1979 E23 733i that I picked up a couple years ago from a chap who blew the motor up and stripped it right down to prep for paintwork, then realised he had too many projects on. The E23 is well on it's way now but plenty more to do! Cheers Josh

Spends money on upgrades throughout the car making it no longer OEM. Then spends 20K on a stock M20 rebuild.... What an odd decision.

Thats total, world wide. Only 1,200 RHD were made. That's pretty rare. Rarer than most other "M" cars.

Hello all, new to the forum and new to euro cars / Bmw's Bought this 07 335i e90 (not a M sport) in May here Hamilton and have been loving it even even with the few issues i have had The power of this car incredible, half throttle will light the rears and have the car matching the speed limit in a few seconds. My father drove it once before going out and buying himself a 135i a couple of weeks later Car is a Jap import and I am first NZ owner. Being a Japanese import car no history is known Have done a few things so far; Replaced front windscreen rubber, battery and had radio reprogrammed to NZ Still have to get air con condenser replaced and sort out the rear suspension / ride quality. The ride is rougher than i would like and the rear suspension has bottomed several times l took this to BMW yesterday to look at the suspension , they put it up on the lift and were surprised with the under neath. Front and rear sway bars (both adjustable), springs, front swing arms, most bushings and extra frame bracing I am looking for a set of OEM rear springs to see if that will help rear bottoming out. Currently the wheels are sitting just in feeders in the rear so there must not be much travel left. Has anyone had experience with this? As someone has spent a lot time / Money modifying this car i wonder if they would have touched the ECU? Would there even be any way to check this without putting the car on a dyno or taking it into BMW?

SOLD. Time constraints and other projects mean I haven't had a lot of time for this so it needs to go. As with a car of this age it has good and bad points. 225k on the clock. Engine starts and runs sweet. I replaced the engine mounts and the center hanging bearing but should have read a bit more before doing that. I didn't pre-load the hanging bearing so it knocks a bit under power changing from 1st to 2nd. Usual interior issues. Roof lining is sagging and material is coming off door cards but seats and carpets are good. Doesn't have fog lights Chipping to paint on the rf guard and a few small dings around the car(I'll add photos when I can) New reg and wof on it. $1800 ono If I list it on Trademe it will be for a bit more than that.

Warrent time today. Took it to VTNZ as I was confident there weren't any issues. Turns out the orange film on the rear indicators had cracked off and they failed it because they were white. A quick trip to Repco and it's all sorted. ?

Hahaha! It wouldn't surprise me if you didn't misunderstand, but the dealer had it wrong... They should make it VERY clear the key needs cutting, or at least do it on arrival. Anytime I've tried to order key/lock related parts, the dealers I tried were confused or simply trying to sell me the wrong parts - both E39 and E30. (Actually, often for ANY parts they don't understand!) Paul at Milland sorted it out correctly and cheaper from a German BMW supplier - still genuine parts. The dealer wanted the paint code to order a new (key matched) lock barrel mechanism for our E39, Paul didn't need it and it arrived correct ? The dealer was trying to sell me a handle/latch/lock mechanism complete, instead of just the lock barrel I was requesting ?. They key was also over NZ$100 cheaper from Paul, for the E39 - just needed the remote synched, as normal.

As per title, after a harness from an M20 motor to fit E30. Needs to be Motronic 1.3. Don't need the injector harness as well. Located Wellington and happy to pay freight. Thanks

I would suggest fixing yours or putting a new unit on. A pain to change it only to have it fail in six- 12 months.

Stumbled across this while trawling through some japanese auctions. looks like a nice example....pity they didnt use the newer motor like HellBM http://www.moderno-zing.com/stock/bmw 130i-mスポーツ v8e39エンジン公認/

All the arguing over the engine is missing out on the other hardware. LSD, suspension, and other M bits that BMW never puts on non M cars. Still, if you don't care for the "special low volume M car" factor you can mod a 135i to match or exceed a 1M's capabilities for less money. Many people have done that.

If I were you OP - I'd go for an M2.

Shout out to Tonys Tyre Service in Takanini, first time ive ever used em. Decided to try some RE003s out. Really clean workshop, really good customer service, and I watched the guy use a real torque wrench to tighten the wheels back up, and then another guy came around and checked the torques!

I'd still take the 1M for it rarity. Its not "mass produced" and despite the bitching, imo its a special car that was built specifically to be fun. I still think its an M car, because its been tweaked to be better than any standard model, has a bunch of "one off" parts exclusive to it, and has a limited production run.

Looks far from finished, wiring all over the place, and looks stupid with the mtech2. Lol @ 23k

After driving a 2016 6.7l 3600kg Ram 2500 for 3 weeks in Georgia, the 130i feels like an absolute razor blade weapon of a thing. So much steering feel! 100% the best upgrade to any car, is to compare it to something way less dynamic
