Installed a GROM unit as per @BozzaFC recommendation. It is a bit pricey for what it is but it does it's job very effectively. I got this one: https://gromaudio.com/store/bt3_adapters/bmw-mini-98-05-bluetooth-adapter-car-kit-behind-the-radio-connector.html with the 3.5mm and USB charger cable. I'm loving being able to run spotify via bluetooth and still use the steering controls to skip tracks. Bit of ghetto install using the posi things....should probably solder them eventually. NB: you gotta disconnect the CD stacker at the stacker also.. No more tape adapter for me ? Is it even an E39 if your pixels ARE working?? ?

Well, you see, I have a number of E30s so I am familiar with the overall concept. I also have a high-level of 3D perception and visualisation, so from the various photos showing the details I can put it all together in my head.

No I mean if they continue down that track. There is money in boring little econoboxes. It's what the majority want. But as we keep saying. Who cares. None of us will buy one. Most of us will stick with the old BMW's we grew up with. That's where the true fun and pain is.

To be fair, I don't think those who are fans of these existing BMW lines are suggesting that the new ranges will be 'bad cars', at all. I think that what they are lamenting is that BMW is giving up its uniqueness in an effort to appeal to the homogenous mass-market which is already exceedingly well served. If you want a 1.5-2.0L, turbocharged, transverse mounted engine driving either a front axle or a front/rear via a non-fulltime AWD setup, there are literally dozens of those on the market, often from brands who have them down to a fine art. But there was only one rear-wheel-drive, longitudinally mounted option in the entire small car market, and it's being killed off. Which kinda leaves those who liked it feeling like they're watching their favourite food joint being bowled to build yet another fast food burger chainstore.

Hi all, Long term owner of a 1982 635 CSI, new to bimmersport. Looking to undertake a refresh of my baby and will probably seek advice on all sorts of silly and not so silly questions. Thanks to all who put this great site together and do all the hard work - much appreciated! Greg

I would hazard a guess that an enormous percentage of customers (BMW or otherwise) wouldn't even know, let alone care what wheels were driven. That's gotta factor into the equation too. I consider this lamentable because I'm in the other, tiny slice of the population. ? I see the next M3 is apparently 2+2 (~500hp). I don't know how far down you'll be able to dial the front split but possibly not 0%. So, soon it may be the end of RWD BMW's period. Entry level or not. Whatever the reasons, this makes me sad. ?

Watching Red Dwarf (Blu Ray) with my son. He digs it. Started all the way back from S1 E1 (The End).

217,890km New shocks up front. I've gone with: Part #: SAC-556838 - these are the S704A shock instead of the S705A, I only figured this out after I had already put one in. All i'm noticing is the car is smoother now and my bank account isn't as far in the red as if I had of gone S705A route. I am abit annoyed i didn't figure this out sooner and as I've been sitting on everything but the shocks for almost a year. I probably would have gone the koni yellow route as it's kind of the in between price wise (still way cheaper than S705A though, but i really don't want it any stiffer). Now I'm in a bit of dilemma as to what I do with the rears....do I replace them with more S704A shocks or get S705A..? All i can find on the internet is that the S705A package is valved to handle the extra weight of the M62TU and designed for a staggered wheel set up....I'll wait for you guys to lash me for being so ignorant first ? BMW Strut bearing Part #: BMW-31331090612 Lemforder strut mount Part #:LEM-2180801 BMW bump stop Part #:BMW-31331138814 BMW spring pad lower Part #:BMW-31331096664 BMW spring pad upper Part #:BMW-31331091233 I did this over two weeks so have been driving for a week with one new shock and one old and to be honest the new shock side felt better..... Maxed out the spring compressors....man these things really turn your anxiety up.

I think they are long out of production (assuming same as E28 if later E24 being discussed, not clear as the change is was in 82). To the OP, FWIW, I just ordered the B6's plus the Ireland Engineering springs. Granted B6's are not usually for usage with lowering springs, but internet forum folklore suggests IE springs are actually not any lower than stock (some people claimed they were higher than 20yr+ fatigued originals).

I'd rock it, as long as it's honda reliable and not BMW reliable

You can’t fit this with a csl intake. Well not both parts just the front induction bit you can.

Bit off an update. After 3 weeks. Total replacement with a brand new car with all the extras I had paid for... plus upgraded to the Elite Black roof model. I've gone for Lagoon Blue this time. I couldn't go with the Red again.
