Finally put the style 5's on. Center caps are off until I get the tool. The center caps are also a slightly different silver, not sure what to do about this. Anyone refurbed a set of style 5's and have some pointers?

i dont see practicality being "the" problem.. it certainly can be a problem but i highly doubt it being the deciding factor. i wish they paid more homage to the original supra and followed it's design cues a bit more instead of making something that looks totally different. (to my eyes anyway)

100k is too much, kia stinger is 70k and doesnt have the styling or "name" but has similar performance levels and is a bigger car, with the same gearbox. 370Z nismo is also 70k, and has the styling and name... but a bit slower and comes with a manual box (still, 5s to 100kmh is hardly slow).. I wonder if they will depreciate like a BMW, or like a Toyota.

Denial prompts strong reactions in those feeble of mind. "Sir, have ten dollars. Tell me, how did you lose your sight? Service in Afghanistan, an industrial accident perhaps?" "No; it was purely denial mixed with rage. My JDM brainwashing was a barrier to accepting that the French were actually very innovative, whereas the Japanese were merely refining European ideas. It pushed me over the edge, and I poked my own eyes out. Now, my friends taunt me that the Italians made great cars. It's too much, I've got to keep the faith." "Promise me you'll buy food with that money. Please, don't waste it on... another Honda tattoo".

Ok, agree with you on the CRX. But the ITR...umm, err, inspired by the engine doner car, maybe? Most Honda fanboys (me included) would rather poke their eyes out with blunt sticks than draw inspiration from frog shite. Now if only Red Bull could get the car to work as well as their new engine... I vaguely recall reading a Wheels magazine about 30 years ago, when the Japanese where getting right into their tech (4 wheel steering and the like), and some high up BMW boffin saying stuff like they'd never build a front wheel drive car. I thought that was a bold statement at the time. But then they had just swallowed Rover (and Mini), so maybe that was the out clause.

The actual interior design and layout is still way too BMW like for my tastes.

Most drivers are very reluctant to give power figures for their cars - but Sharpie's motor has certainly got some mumbo, combined with the rest of the car being very well set up and balanced it is very quick and well towards the pointy end. There are possibly some more powerful engines in other cars, including some very trick M4x twin cams from the US of A, in the series as well. The 2 Ltr Championship used to be part of the Open Class grid, and was a great way for people to share an E30 car between two drivers. It was seperated out from the Open Class grid due to the exact reasons you mention - mostly the safety aspects, as the closing speeds were phenominal between an A Class V8 / turbo car and the shared E30 series cars. It does get VERY busy at the end of a handicap race as everyone bunches up... need to have some very large cojones for some of the moves made (not by me I may add). Lots of drivers, myself included, have moved from the E30 Class into 2 Litre Champs, either developing their E30 car or into other E36, etc. The class has certainly developed in terms of numbers, and also the speed of the front guys is getting quicker all the time - many lap records were broken this year. I think once I have finished "developing" my car and get back on the track I will be further away from the front than when I started! If you like this vid, try and find the one from Kayne Barrie running in Nick Thompsons E30.. another very quick car being expertly driven. Here...

good choice on the wheels. did you get them from jervis? they are a rare style that comes on some e9x m3's and slightly different to the more common style 260. ferric grey is the right name and i think looks better than black!

Day 310: Call it strange, but I find it oddly satisfying to count the days I've owned this European brute! Few updates from the last post. 150000ks. I guess you can say my car is officially worthless. Attended the dyno day hosted by @HELLBM at Torque Performance. Managed to score 193.1 kw. I've been told its a commendable number for stock, but still. MORE POWER NEEDED. received_409503496297051.mp4 Lastly, picked up a set of Style 219's over the weekend. The scuffing is pretty minor, but its enough to irk me, so currently getting some quotes back for repair/ repaint. I did briefly juggle the idea of painting them black, to match the rest of the car, but after a second look (and external opinions) I think keeping them the OE colour is best. From looking online it appears the OE colour is "Ferric Grey", though there are comments that Space Grey might also be an option.

Before I settled on the M140i I test drove the i30 with that same drive train. Was plenty of fun - almost as good as a Golf GTI and lots cheaper. I think if the i30N was available with that same 7-speed DCT gearbox, I'd have bought it. My days of wanting to drive manuals in Auckland traffic are over.

Hi thanks for the reply, yeah I have done the fluid level three times before pulling it apart again. I have had the valve body apart again today. Everything looks fine and tests satisfactory, all the part numbers of the seals etc all match up and seat perfect, I then reassembled the car again with still the same issue. The car is going to go to the transmission shop soon, I'll pull the valve body again tomorrow reinspect a third time, and make sure nothing is incorrect again and its all as it should be. Before reassembling again and taking it in on a tow truck. Thanks.
