1000km since the transmission work. Had a very aggressive jolt when shifting from 3rd down to 2nd for a while but that seems to have chilled out now. This morning out enjoying the current Wellington spring winds.

Hi all. Does anyone know this car? Is this the one that has been 'rebodied'? No mention in the ad, and quite an important fact to omit if so... Thoughts on this cars value, considering the seller doesn't list a number to discuss. Also thoughts on the 540iS in general? Looks like a nice example, but not the best go at marketing a car with the half arsed photos in the listing. TIA. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2425951799.htm

You have a jack in your boot. How else would you put on the spare tyre in the case of a puncture?

Yeah definitely solid cars. Of the top of my head there is also a calypso red 540iS (or it may be silver) with well over 400k in NZ as well. After trawling through the net all evening I found this link. Raises more questions than it answers I think.

15 for a daily, 16 for the 'special' car. And yes - 17s on track.

Maybe exaggerated with 'plenty' but anything $1 reserve goes sub 10k. Two examples where here in Chch, 3litre petrol with 120k for $6500. V8 with 220k for 7ish. Both had all the big stuff down like suspension airbags, valley plate on the v8 etc etc

Pretty easy really. Have a good read of this thread: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1358509 Basically, unscrew the paddle assembly from the wheel, unscrew the paddle from the mounting base, remove the plastic hinge pin from the old and new paddles and swap them over and screw everything back together. As you keep the original circuit board base. I kept the rubber pad with the conductive buttons from the f series paddles but cut off the spring guide as the original base has a plastic spring guide and also swapped over the f series spring as it is stiffer. Result is an OEM look and a much nicer feeling paddle actuation. I just bought the replica f series paddles you see on eBay or AliExpress, quite surprised at the quality, then again I wasn't using the circuit board on those ones.

Can everyone stop buying houses so I can buy one and have somewhere to put cars like this I want to buy? Good luck with the sale. Great base for a race car or road car.

Gave the car a well overdue workout up through the Mangamukas to Cape Reinga. Nearly used a full tank of gas there and back starting from Paihia.

Yesterday this was parked up having brunch at a popular local village cafe. Couldn’t help myself to get a photo bomb ?. And the noise it made when it fired up!

Hi folks, just joined as driving & cars are a passion in life. On a road trip now from New Plymouth - Hokitika - Christchurch. Purchased yesterday my 2nd BMW. 2003 325ci. Milliy's a keeper! Be great if a Canterbury or South Island club can be restarted with regular meets and runs for like minded BMW drivers and their families. Thank you for letting me join. Happy driving everyone. Jon

Had the car on the dyno the other day, pleasing to see the performance is right on par for this model. 197kW at the wheels.

That stanced 3.0CS looks so good. What is it about classics dropped on big rims that works so well..?
