Selling on behalf of my sister who has owned for the last 2 years. This is her 1998 328i coupe in Montreal Blue. Full factory M-Sport package with partial leather seats. Currently at 142Km. This car has only had enthusiasts as owners, shown by the massive folder full of service history and it's overall condition. Door cards and headliner recovered in the last 2 years. The only non factory extras include an alarm with immobiliser, a bluetooth headunit and tinted windows. Even has factory PDC! Hey team, Heres my recently acquired E30 coupe in red. Had a pfl E30 325 coupe nearly 8 years ago and recently started looking for another one to build up. Was after a non sunroof coupe and overall tidy as such. Went slightly north and picked this up As you can tell its pretty rough on the paint side of things and was also told it has no rust, before I took it away found rust in the boot, will be getting tidied up and full paint when it's all done Anyway, got it home and put a polishing machine over it, come up alright for the meantime Next on the agenda was the overheating at traffic lights , but fine on open road, was also told fluids had just been done...water was horrible Thermostat was dry Figured it hadnt been bleed so changed thermostat and new coolant, full bleed and bingo no over heating Next issue, drivers window wasnt working, told it was regulator and given 2 with car. Pulled off door card and was unplugged, plugged in and was noisier than an outboard motor tilting on a stabicraft Pulled off regulator and put new one one and wouldnt quite fit up, turned out the splines were different. So pulled apart the noisy one and found the ball at the bottom had worn out so swapped the shaft into a good body, and the existing cap (this is important to ensure window goes up on up button, at first I didnt do this and window was doing opposite) Window all done, will lower it next and daily it for a few months. Have a m52 sitting in the shed for it, and will do a zf box. 5 stud it aswell to open up wheel choices. Slowly building up parts but keeping it on road until everything is ready

I cant understand the logic to spend $1500 to refurbish wheels which may or may not be brand name. For this kind of price I would hope they are forged wheels not cast but judging from the photos and the chrome look finish I would say these are most likely cast wheels. It doesnt look like flow forged either because this is a relatively newer tech and these wheels are definitely an older style/design from 10+ years ago. You can buy very good quality reputable aftermarket wheels for around $1500 these days btw. wheels are not as expensive as they once were back in the days.

Hi Everyone, I have imported a 1973 E9 coupe. Mechanically the running gear looks ok. The engine is a M30B34 and the compression on cylinder 6 is about 8.5 bar and the rest are around 12.5. When I took the rocker cover off it looked new inside. no sign of water in the oil so I am taking the engine out and going to take the head off. Any ideas on what the issue is? The car stood for about 6 years before I bought it. I'm hoping it's Just the rings. I can't figure out if the engine is a high compression European one or a low compression USA one , given the compression test what would your guess be? Once the head off I'll know for sure. The car has triple 45 Webers, a 265 Getrag box and a limited slip diff. The suspension seems to have slightly lower springs, Bilstien shocks, large anti roll bars front and rear. Apart from any engine issues I am after some E9 parts, does anyone have any or even an old e9 decomposing in the garden. Let me know . I am also after a period style black leather steering wheel. Also guidance on rebuilding the power steering pump and steering box (The box seems to have little play in it but I want to make sure it is fluid tight. Where can I get a gasket for the back case of the gearbox. It appears to be leaking from the bolts that hold it on. I could use liquid gasket, but would prefer the real gasket. I would also like some RHD headers as well if anyone has some ideas. I tried Motorsport down under but they have not responded to my emails. Are they still in business? I thought it was about time I started a project thread to document what I have already done and what I plan to do to my E30. Hopefully it'll give me a little motivation to get thru the list of items that require attention. When I brought it 6 months ago it was running a little rough. After a quick trip to the Park Road E30 Performance Centre, the problem was quickly resolved. The distributor cap had a huge crack so that was promptly replaced and now runs like a dream. Items that no longer require attention: Oil change, Fitted a SA spec boot lining and half a tool kit , Replaced the sump that had a hairline crack, Removed the superlow springs in the rear that were not captive and replaced them with some lows, Fitted E36 window switches, Items that require attention: Insert items listed on back of Heineken box here... Your car, being a facelift non msport E46, would have come on factory 16" wheels Style 88 out of the factory. The original owner of the car could have requested for the 18's possibly but these do not resemble any of the bmw styles so most likely they are aftermarket. If it is indeed aftermarket and not one from a reputable brand, I personally wouldnt bother to refurbish them because the costs can be significant and might be better off to go for a higher quality wheel but its obviously your choice. You should know pretty quickly with the stamps (or lack of) on the inside of the wheel when they come off the car.

I don't think that "S2BA BMW LA Wheel Double Spoke 88" refers to something different to the "standard" style 88's. If you have a look at the below that's the exact description applied to the style 88. Thanks! Not sure which specific ones yet, angling for some 18's. Quite like the look of the ZHP's, was keen on ones but turned out to be a shoddy set. Just keeping an eye out really, don't want to spend a stupid amount. 68's will do for now, have plenty of tread left on the tyres so not in much of a hurry. Need to take care of the mechanics of it first anyway. Wondering if it's worth getting spacers for the meantime though, they sit stupidly deep inside the arch, doesn't look right. 20mm rear and 10/12mm front should be optimal from what I've read?

Yeah, I've got something similar, and it's annoying the hell out of me. The sound quality is crap, you get constant humming in the background and for some reason it stays on when I turn off the car. I thought it'd cut the power after a while but I've come back the next morning and the display was still lit up and working, so I started taking it out the cigarette lighter plug every time I park up. I really like the minimalism of this solution, unfortunately my unit is too old to support AUX input, so I'm just waiting until one becomes available at the wrecker's or something.

Hey, Yeah, wouldn't mind a catch-up, see what other folks are up to as I've not really got much to show for my efforts at this point. In regards to parts, I haven't gotten round to installing anything yet, discovered I'm still missing some bits & bobs for the work I'm planning to undertake so have put it off until they get here. But from what I've gathered, FCP Euro seems to be a solid place to get stuff. The site is laid out really well, they've got pictures and reviews for nearly all items, and even have put together kits for some of the more common jobs, which was awesome when ordering as they include all sorts of smaller gaskets & O-rings that would have been very easy to miss if I'd have had to put the shopping list together myself. Plus what I've found is the shops here mostly carry Genuine BMW parts, which are understandably more expensive. FCP carries both genuine and OEM & OE parts, so you can choose which components you are willing to take a risk on. For example, for radiator hoses I didn't see a reason to go all out genuine, as it's mostly rubber anyway, so I went with all Rein parts, who is a reputable OEM supplier, the particular hoses had great reviews and were roughly a third of the price of genuine, so even with shipping that came out to a massive win. Shipping also only takes a week, at least has done so far. Basically I just roughly compare the prices for each purchase and see which option comes out to be the better deal. If it's genuine parts, then it's sometimes even cheaper from local suppliers, but FCP is a great place to turn to for a wider selection of OEM components.
