Sold it. Anybody got ideas on how I'll keep my driveway oiled now?

Forgive the crappy phone pic but this thing, parked around the corner from my office, is seriously mint, possibly the nicest I've seen. Great plate too.

I offended a guy at a cars and coffee event in the US. Overheard me telling the Mrs his E28 looked like it had a fat lip and they ruined the car. They did.

On Saturday, I washed our e46 Touring. Shiny Shiny. After Auto Glym suds, and a do-off with Rapid Dry Towel. I also replaced the washer pump. Only it wasn't the pump, it was the filter that was completely snotted-up. There's more snot in the tank to deal with; I didn't have the tools to clean it. I rinsed it out, put the old pump back in and got it all going. Note to self: Using BMW Screen Wash exclusively since the pump was changed about 4 years ago was not the path to happiness I was assured of. Old pump out - temporarily, as it turns out. Same VDO/Continental part replaced. Just a 10mm socket and a couple of electrical connectors and a hose, easy removal. De-snotted pump inlet filter/grommet detail shot e46's strike the pose Today the e46 received it's rear O2 sensors, at Auto38 in Wellington. The fronts had been replaced approx six weeks ago; the rears deferred until manifold to front pipe gaskets, bolts, and nuts were available. It was a shitty job, exhaust off, and Jon had the oxy-acetylene set on the bolts to remove them. End result, car runs even smoother, at almost 195k kms. Still loving this car after 8 years and 3 months.

No use for this anymore since I’ve sold my 530i. I purchased the transmission from BMWORLD in Papakura and had the torque converter rebuilt with the intention of fitting it all in to my ex 530i. Approximately 140k km on the trans. 0km on the torque converter - it’s as new. I’ve also pre-installed a genuine zf filter kit. Comes with the correct synthetic fluid and rear main seal kit. Pick up only in West Auckland. I’m asking $700

I've used the repco one before with no issue, and its a very common tool to use. Also have a pair of forks, but dont think i have ever managed to pop a joint with them, all it does it make a mess. If you can afford it and/or intend on popping joints a lot, I picked this up recently to split a joint on the Mini that nothing else would crack and the biggest one in the kit worked perfect. It basically has every option. https://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/toolpro-toolpro-ball-joint-separator-kit-5-piece/543412.html#q=ball%2Bjoint&lang=en_NZ&start=24

Not enough mud on it, try again!

I didn't think the question of reliability was the block/head, it's everything else attached to it that fails.

Refurbished wheels are back and fitted up with new semi slicks all around. Fitment of the e39 M5 wheels on the e46 M3 is spot on. Next up I'll fit the Fancywide rear diffuser when it turns up. This may still be a while away as I think it shipped from Russia.

I am the one selling it on behalf of the current owner, this an amazing car!! I agree the price is up there, I have been flamed on some other forums, but, try & buy another NZ new 535is & build it to this level for $24

Original E30s in good condition are becoming much harder to find, lots of them have gone to the big breakers in the sky, or been messed around with by previous owners. So from that point of view your Dad's car is a fairly rare beast this days and also pretty desirable for an enthusiast. The drivetrain is not the most desirable, the 320i is neither one thing or the other in terms of performance v economy and the automatic is not the greatest and so manuals get a hefty premium in the prices. On the other hand, the NZ New part and one owner (hopefully with lots of service history and maintenance records) with a reasonably low mileage will all be points to attract better money. Very hard to put a dollar value on it, more photos would be a help, of interior and exterior, showing any options which can be desirable - wheels, seats, etc. Do you want a value for insurance, or is your Dad looking to sell it? If he is in no hurry to sell then that would help, as there are those out there that would pay good money for an original, good condition example but it may take a while to find them in the current market.

OEM muffler swapped on, the tips are so teeny. It's a fair bit quieter, but still really raspy. Can finally hear the intake tho. Going to work on center section later in the week after Anzac day. The biggest f**k up might have been making the series cars coupes and not four doors.
