Managed to get my hands on some OEM blackline tail lights so just fitted them this afternoon. Subtle difference but I love it!! Before and after below:

Another anniversary. 10 years today. The last two years have been the hardest two years in my life and I'm still a non smoker. I'd hate to be addicted with the cost of those products these days. How many other achievers are there out there ?

To be clear to anyone else reading this linear throttle has no effect whtsoever on power or torque. Having run both the original and linear I choose linear as it gives you more control and has absolutely no effect on the torque curve all it does is require full pedal use to get full opening of the buterfly. If you want big increases in throttle movement for small increases in pedal movement then leave it stock. If you want fine control especially when controlling the transition into boost on tight corners, slipery conditions or when at the limit of grip then linear is the way to go, if straight lines and highyway cruising are you domain then leav it as is. That said with electronics turned off I can launch more consistantly with linear and according to Draggy thats how I get my best 0 to 100 times. Finally v8 MHD maps arenot my favourite v9 are a big step forward slightly better 0 to 100 times and noticeably smoother.

the crazy thing with these is that there isnt a huge price gap between the A5 3.2 and the S5. I personally think that the sportback 4 door shape is really nice.

I can tell you why, but it won't be PC.

Keep an eye out for a second hand BOC branded machine, they pop up on trade me from time to time, we have 3 BOC machines at work and I have 2 at home, they just don't give any problems. Consumable parts are also easy to get for them. Higher duty cycle is worth paying a bit more for, it is a good indicator of how ruggedly built the machine is. I haven't got experience with any of the combo mig / tig machines but 180 amps should be plenty for what you want to do, it will run 0.8mm mig wire and you will be able to make holes in things!! Any machine that size will need a 15amp plug to output full power.

@Jacko i was actually about to make a mention on something about exactly this, I used to run edge 5w40, by 3500km i chewed through 1l, so 1l top up, and then in 2000km that 1l was chewed up, top up -> then lucky if i got another 1000km out of it before top up. I switched to Penrite HPR, it's been 5400km since the fill and have just chewed through my first litre, which is substantially better than 3500km on the edge, hard to say 100% for sure right now, but if i make it to my 7,000km oil interval without having to top up, this pretty much would suggest that Castrol Edge oil integrity breaks down quicker than penrite HPR in a substantial way. No real leaks either to add to usage, sump is relatively dry, oil cooler gasket is dry, block is dry,. Just the od "seepage" here and there in common places.

Two batteries installed and coded, and 13 litres of HPR5 dumped in. What I have noticed in moving from Castol 5W30 LL01 to Penrite HPR5W40+10 is that oil consumption seems to be reduced a lot, dumping a litre into the 330 and 500ml into the 130 in a 7000km oil change cycle used to be normal.. and I havent had to top up between the last 3 oil changes. Found the 330 is dribbling from the oilcooler gasket, at near identical km to when the 130 did it, so new gaskets, belts, idlers ordered.. ..

Cleaned the car, and produced a little bit of low level car porn ?

Yeah, it's bulky, but nice lines. I heard the 2 litre turbos burn a shed load of oil and as wasn't planning on a remap, V6 sounded better, more power and reliability. I'm sure the wheels will be curbed in the next month ?

He was probably the one who overvalued that one. He valued a LHD RX7 at 80k which is madness.

Well - it's back!!! Just feels so different after the driving the F30 and X5 for so long... got snarled up in blimmin traffic driving it through town and on the motorway - meh. just love the engine sound and I do think it is a great-looking vehicle not fussed about not having super dark windows - and my left wing mirror works properly - bit of a novelty there's a bit of a resonance when stopped/going slowly - theory is this may be the new hard engine mounts Jon noted a bit of a tick in the steering - found a bit of minor corrosion on the rack and has cleaned it down thoroughly and used a super-thick grease. Check this out - my gift-boxed bearings as evidence it has been done! Nice touch indeed

Looked pretty normal height, maybe a little high - just a lowish bumper I think.
