Who wants an E30 when you could have this? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3060937618

I’ll see your V10 sedans and raise you a V10 wagon, spotted at Hampton Downs. It’s For Sale as well, i know the owner.

I would be interested to know how many BMW customers ( people who actually buy a BMW new from a dealership) still have the car when it racks up 300k km? I imagine its a tiny number and BMW aren't too concerned about it.

I really don't think I could convince the wife to let me have 2 of them, they would look good side by side in a garage though!

Completed the tear down and replacement of the required items. Removal of internal oil pump looks to be incredibly easy and essentially just leaving it out !! Lucky. There was a damaged gasket under one of the notorious VQ oil galleries, so definitely a good decision to do this work now !! Also two of the original screws were loose, so again great to fix while its all opened up. Gave the front cover a nice acid clean and water blast so it looks spanky now. Final re-assembly still to come then can validate the last items before having the oil pan manufactured.

Pretty quick around Hampton Downs as well, even on some well worn lower grade tyres.

I purchased a 5inch intercooler fom Aliexpress. Quality was pretty good. I did need to remove some of the pastic behind the front bumper to fit it. However if you see upgraded turbos in your future the 5 inch alliexpress intercooler is too small.

That's correct; guards were cut off of a donor vehicle (I believe it was actually a convertible - not 100% on that) and were grafted onto the sedan. The inner skin of the wheel arch needs to be extended to match the wider guard. Borrowing from my build thread:

Not sure if you've seen this thread - this car is stunning, looks OEM. Not 100% but I think he may have had to modify OEM M3 Coupe gaurds. Also, Cliq Tuning have some, no idea on quality - imagine any third party solution will require a bit of fiddling though. https://cliqtuning.com/shop/bmw-e46-sedan-front-overfenders-m3-style/?c=72e1ba2726d6

I recall a v10 m5 Touring on TradeMe a while ago (2 years?). Number plate was "1of2" Why? Because there were only ever 2 of them sold new in New Zealand. Why only ever 2, you ask?? Mostly because the new price of the TM one (it had a few extra's - not that many) was $287,000nzd. Surprised there were 2 sold, tbh.
