Hi all New to the forum, I’m based in Christchurch and have a kiwi new 2001 330ci Motorsport rag top that I pull out on a nice day. Have a desire to buy an M3 to park alongside it but will post that in the right spot!

Only really have two options. Wait for the right buyer at your price or reduce the price and create more “right” buyers

Hi team! We have a mighty E46 318i for sale. Wof until July and rego until August. 203xxx kilometres Fairly tidy body and leather interior. M43 engine (auto) Front rotors could do with replacing and also has a reverse light out, not sure if a bulb or if it's the wiring. Unfortunately also has a crack about 20cm across passenger side of windscreen. Comes with front left door trim however will need trim clips to attach it. Been used as a daily driver for the last two years and is incredibly cheap on gas. Could be a great base for a race car? Sold as is where is for $1800 or near offer. Available to view in Pokeno.

Just theorising... but if the car cranks over like normal but doesn't fire, maybe the ECU (or ignition system) requires a certain minimum voltage to operate ? Battery voltage drops substantially while cranking and if the battery is getting tired the cranking voltage may be dropping below that threshold. Adding the jump starter will lift the voltage above the threshold and it fires right up. Could be worth checking with someone who knows more about BMW electronics than I do Cheers...

Looking to sell my E28 and was after some thoughts on realistic pricing. Its a 86 525e with 176000kms, very tidy original condition inside and out, full documented dealership service history from 1991, everything works and drives like new. Seeing as these don't come up often its hard gauge were the market is, any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

@Wade13 The email of the seller is still on the listing if you wanted to contact them to get a ballpark figure. Not sure how much it went for, I asked them if they were taking offers and they said they’d rather let the auction run so must have been a pretty good offer. I’ll be keeping an eye out for your listing! All the best.

minimum of $15k. Lovely example. Everything cool from the 80's is taking a sharp increase in interest. Although the 'eta' models aren't the last word in sports driving, they are leggy and fun while not being too thirsty. Never mind the naysayers, the e28 is on the way up (M535i), tidy etas will get a leg up along with them. @freaknout this one's for you mate! edit: oooops saw this was a thread-dredge. I wonder, will waimakclassiccars get above $25k for this?

At that price there’s got to be some hidden wallet smashers in the engine bay... And by absolute credit to the owner do they mean an absolute liability? 😅

Dude, I will happily pay for postage so I can give these to a friends 16 year old son, he is dyslexic but wants to be a mechanic, I think this would a) get him interested in trying to read and study again, and b) give him a good understanding of the basics, as he has limited knowledge at the moment, but a desire to learn. Let me know if you're all good with that, and I'll give you an address and pay for shipping (if you can be bothered)

Another option for the P/S hoses - make a custom high pressure hose with AN fittings and appropriate hose. For the low pressure side, a standard E36 hose worked nicely with a little tweaking, and a small support bracket to secure it. I did this to fit an E46 purple tag rack to my E30, and it worked quite nicely. I also did a different E30 by just carefully bending the original E30 high side hose. It didn't look great, but it worked perfectly.

Im not surprised, they tried to lowball the heck out of me when I was selling my TVR. They always have huge markups. They have also been known to try and pass things off on unsuspecting buyers, like the difference between Miles and KM on an odometer.

Another good bugger gone from the world, RIP Darryl indeed. Had the pleasure of his company, and laid back approach to scrutineering, at Manfeild for a good number of years.

Fitted new Lemforder Tierod's last weekend and got a fresh Alignment at RaceAlign on Monday. With Suspension now pretty sorted, decided to put in some 98, inflate the side bolsters up and give her a good, sustained spanking. Went for a blast out to the Manakau Heads Lighthouse which (after the hideous Southern Motorway traffic) was fantastic - brilliant views, no traffic and some pretty fun (if a little sketchy) roads. Car was great - really happy with it - didn't miss a beat, flat and direct, but compliant, heaps of feedback and with the 3.38 diff, plenty of power for me on these types of roads. A bit much tramlining for my liking, but a lot of that would have been the nature of the crappy roads. Only bummer was the speeding ticket and 20 demerits doing 98 in what I had assumed was a 100kph zone in Drury. Oh well, could have been worse 😜

So actually the cars idle is steady and doesnt bounce around but there is still a fair bit of exhaust rattle. also quite a bit of steering wheel vibration especially around 60-80km/h roughly. Im thinking engine mounts next for sure and probably a wheel alignment. I still havent found the cause of the air hissing noise. Ccv and hose has been replaced already.

The tool is for manually winding up the electric windows should they fail. Unsure about the phone, just kept it for the business man on the move look. It still powers up.

No idea what it’s worth, but that is one seriously awesome example of a very cool car! GLWS.
