Finally an update for this one...! Have been to'ing and fro'ing on the next steps for this car, specifically whether or not to supercharge. After (literally) years of deliberation I have decided to keep it NA, and as such celebrated with a CSL intake from Geoff Steel 😁 Should be pretty similar to this one: I'm running a K&N 57 series currently, so that'll be up if anyone is interested (assuming of course I can get the CSL airbox and software working...).

Big day today with all the new suspension parts installed by Kerry at Mosens. Plus new fuel filter. car sitting pretty just after installation will be getting alignment Wednesday and then a decent drive home and some time for it all to settle in. The difference in feel and composure was immediately noticeable even on the sedate drive home. Less diving under brakes, better acceleration and better steering. Can’t wait to hit the open road.

The owner of this lovely trio is an extremely fanatical guy and is possibly one of the world's biggest devotee's of the E31. He was one of the 1st owners of an E31 new in NZ, and about 10-12 years ago built an exceptional collection of around 10 plus examples of special E31's. Included in that collection were some super exclusive Alpina models (now sold I believe). He also painstakingly built a red race car that paid homage to the famous "M8" prototype that lives in the BMW museum. That car was seen racing on our race-tracks a few years ago. A beast. The dakar yellow Schnitzer example was written about 10-15 years ago in BMW car magazine. It was owned then by another 8 series enthusiast - who lived in the UK. I peronally like the stance of the grey Schnitzer / Frankenstein 850csi. Looks so aggressive. The 8 is a lovely car - very few cars exude timeless design like the E31.

I think for the track, they look awesome. But for the road, the ACS Type IV's still look the mutz.

I like them, different look to what you'd normally see but I think it works well. 👍

Yeah I like the ACS Type IVs too, Im being a weight weeny and want to start playing with it on track. Ill probably keep them in the corner. ACS Type IV 19x8.5 235/35/19 - RE003 - 24.86kg R5 18x8.5 235/40/18 - RT615K+ - 21.3kg 14.24kg of unsprung mass.... not insignificant.

Ye gads! You get to do some cool stuff with that car. Here I am super impressed with myself if I change a bit of interior trim on my own lol. Anyway, regarding the rims, I prefer the ACS Type IV's but then again, I am bias as that's my old car. But then again, I do like anything gloss white... Turning the attention away from the 130i for a second, I'm also super curious about the white drone/spaceship looking thing on the back wall! What is that?

Yeah, I don't know if it's any more cost effective if you're not doing the work yourself. The difference being that at least you know that the gaskets etc have been refreshed while you've done the swap. The struggle is of course at the moment finding a decent example of a 2 door, 318 auto or 325i manual.

Looks like the blue one has sold.

One sold for $8.8k recently. Perhaps they saw that and are perceiving a market value based on it. I'm not sure.

And the seller also has a B5 for sale, nice 👍🏻 Yellow is also my pick. And lol at the peanut gallery turning up on Trademe questions “it’s a 10-12k car at most” give me strength… what can you buy for 10-12K in an E31 anymore?!

What did you have to do to make the e36 seats fit again? I still have your original e28 seats if you get stuck. Obviously any other e28 seat will work, but sports seats are very hard to find and liable to be expensive and need work. Otherwise e24 seats I think fit, e34 can be modded to fit and I’m unsure about e30 seats.

Tidy, 325i ‘vert at Eastern Beach Sunday arvo. I didn’t notice the young lady in the drivers seat until after the photo. If you’re on here - sorry if I seemed a bit stalky! 🤦🏻

…and this e24 I spotted a few weeks back at an automotive shop in CHCH. Originally had a MX____ plate when new, so possibly from the same dealer / NZ city as the e28 above?

Hey I was thinking about doing a build thread and showing my progress, im just in the process of gathering a few more parts - the biggest hurdle Im going through at the moment is how I am going to run the plumbing as Im going to use an intercooler since im running the 80mm pulley from HMW so there wont be any clutch mechanism. This would be my first big build project so theres going to be mistakes and problems I run into along the way - Im doing as much research as I can so the expenses are kept at a minimum and Ive created a spread sheet with all the purchases I have made thus far. Im planning on running the throttle body before the blower with the relocation kit provided by HMW. I know Im going to have to relocate a few things but I cant get into the process of spending more money until I have the brackets and supercharger bolted on so I get a good idea of how to route certain things. But once I get that part installed Ill start a build thread and show all the f**k ups and process along the way. Ill be using the stock ECU (MS43) and ill go the remote tuning route. Ive been looking into a company called Chaos Calibrations to do the tuning but we'll see how it goes in the future.

Oh no! Now look what you’ve gone and done, I’ve just got a PM threatening legal action if all the nasty things people have said aren’t removed. @Nobimmer I blame you personally for this.

The black ace of spades symbol is worn as jewellery or tattooed on women who keep themselves available for use by black men. It's a branch of polyamory. I acquired this hugely useful knowledge trying to figure out the wierd sh*t he was talking about last time. Just make sure you do an incognito search or the Mrs will be giving you some strange looks 😂

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt (open letter). I am now in the witness protection program, living in permanent fear for the safety of myself and my family because there is someone on the other side of the planet who has watched too many batman movies that is sending me mean messages. I can't sleep without hearing the voice of bane from batman saying "I'm going to f**k your mother" and other mean things. All I can think about is what might have been if I had not banned him - I could have been smoking expensive $11 cigars and drinking expensive whiskey in a $2000 E36 while driving around the mean streets of Whangarei doing drifty-doos in the wet, disco music pumping while we talked about how many hot woman we have fornicated with. Oh how my life could have changed for the better - anyway, guess we will never know. This is a man not to be messed with, he is making such huge waves in the SC scene that they are considering changing the name to "Hyde's super duper chargers" Anyway, that was my annual BS post - back to living in fear , please dont sue me for being mean to you online.
