Finally gave it a wash last night, much needed after the trip back from Christchurch. Grabbed a few 'decent' photos. I think these are factory tinted taillights?

Hmm, those Z4 M are nice. Been thinking about surprising the old man with a Z4 for his 80th Birthday, I might have to do a bit more research on the M version.

Basically went overseas for 4 years & car sat outside for 4 years (terrible, I know). The repaired rust spots all came back + some new ones. Fortunately, I've got a garage now, so I'll be repairing this myself in next few months & keep it dry in future. Full strip of interior, sound deadening & panels, so I can find it all so left over rust can't keep eating away at the fresh patches.

Hey all, Picked up my first BMW, and newest car personally, a 2014 M135i, quite nicely spec'd and a very tidy car overall. Having been a mostly JDM car owner up until now (Plus a couple of Falcons), it's definitely a change! Loving the build quality and the power delivery, very smooth. Seems to have lots of options, Prof Navi, M Sport Brakes, Adaptive Suspension, ConnectedDrive (Useless in NZ?), 436 Wheels, Comfort Access, Reversing camera + PDC, cruise, Driving assistant?, a million M sport bits, etc. So far I've only found a couple of issues. It's been flashed to be an AU car, has NZ maps, full english etc. But it appears they failed to code it for the Adaptive Suspension. It doesn't show any options in sport or sport+ mode to adjust it, and when I read it with BimmerCode it doesn't show it as an option. I've confirmed via the VIN, and physically on the shocks that it has the adaptive suspension. From my googling of removing it, I need to VO code it back in? I do have an E-Net cable, but haven't yet installed ESYS and still trying to get my head around all of the acronyms.

Pulled the pin and picked it up. Really excited to get my hands on it now. Spec sheet for anyone who is curious is attached. Vin decoded.pdf

europcar, its not even that expensive. About the only thing I dont like is the steering, same as all "modern" cars, it feels like a video game controller with bad force feedback. Quick as sh*t and nice to drive though, and the ZF 8 speed is stunner.

Couriers were coming thick and fast today! Some goodies to keep me busy for a while and get this thing driving more like the Gods intended. ST Suspension springs and shocks - 50mm/40mm drop - likely similar to the Dobi springs its sitting on now Strut and shock mounts / dust caps 10mm springs pads / bump stops Engine and tranny mounts / steering Guibo Meyle HD endlinks Meyle tierods Meyle control arms New lollypops and Revshift 80a CABs and Powerflex Street eccentric CABs (doubled up there - will sell what I don't use) Will do the shocks and springs first to sort the ride and stance then the front suspension / steering related stuff at a later date. DA polisher and a swag of CarPro goodies from Detail Depot arrived as well - I love this phase of the relationship 🤣

Ran the vin decoder and comes back as a standard 1995 build E36 323i coupe. Not an alpina, doesnt have the alpina body kit or engine spec. But it does seem like it has motorsport suspension and sports (albeit cloth) seats. The wheels look to be style 65 replicas. Black sideskirts probably dont help with the sale either. Unfortunately wont be commanding huge money, how many kms on it now 200k? Do you have a good record of service history for the last 5 years? It maybe worth 4-5k to the right buyer if the car is mechanically sound and no issues.

Hi Bimmersport community, I'm trying to track down as much information about my beautiful 1972 BMW 2002 as I can. I've got the details of the previous owner (as I just purchased it from him) and the person before that, but very keen to speak to anyone who owned or is aware of this car. Trying to paint a bit of a picture of its history - By my count, there should be about 9 owners since NZ new that I haven't spoken to. Previous plates are: NCK968 - 02-Dec-2020 OCTO - 17-Aug-2020 FRP952 - 23-Dec-2010 GW7562 - 29-Mar-1974 The VIN is 2521401 I'm working through the final stages of a restoration (it was largely done, but some final bits to tidy up then building out the car's history remaining).

Got my electrical pieces, so I can now start to lay out the power distribution. Buying from Waytek Wire meant there were some minimum quantities so I've got plenty of 'spares' of some items

Use some thin copper behind the butt welds, makes life easier with heat dissipation You can achieve results as good as any with a crappy flux core set up on panel steel. Just takes practice and a huge amount of patience

Awkward.... 🤣 I didnt even notice it wasnt wearing them in the original photos, i thought the car came with them. Good to know though, silver is no bueno.

Just in time for them to stop making it for good. Back to boring SUV's they go. Well for NZ anyway.
