7 pointsJust kidding. It's the new BMW 7 Series. Hoping it's just a bad render. But not looking likely.

5 pointsStumbled out of Pick-A-Part on Saturday to find this beauty parked next to me. Looked absolutely immaculate, UK-import 330d, sitting on clean Schnitzer's. Absolutely beautiful package, props to the owner, looked really well taken care of.

5 pointsSeen this beautiful 1987 M5 at CHC BMW yesterday afternoon. Incredible condition inside and out Credit to the owner for looking after it so well.

2 pointsI have notice this in the last couple of years with the e46 though. Before it was only nerds. Now I get randoms coming up to me "Is that a manual bro?" etc. I think it's when cars get older but are still well presented they attract everyone; including pig hunters, f*ck pigs, normies and nerds. @SHRNTA any news? Sorry if it's raw / too early, but the insurance scenario would be something I am sure a lot of other owners would be interested in given the recent value changes. Hope it works out OK for you.

2 pointsit'll help, though your RTABs and subframe bushes are probably toast as well. You may want to source those parts (don't bother with poly bushes unless it's a race car), and a new diff mount bush, and replace those as part of adding the rear sway bar. If you're not going to go 20mm at front (and stay with your stock 19mm), suggest you go with 12.5 rear. Maintain the ratio front-to-rear. HTH

1 pointI know what you mean about the two-tone, it looks good on some cars. I had a two-tone Hillman Avenger GT in my youth... not quite the same though. Yes, the X7 is a big unit, but being in and around them everyday, both at work and in East Auckland, you kind of get used to them. There is an LCI (facelift in old money) coming soon for the X7 as well, gets a similar front end treatment as the new i7..

1 pointMy e30 bar is not symmetrical, and the wee hump is likely clearance for the muffler.
-
1 pointThat's not the most flattering angle / colour tbh. Base spec "pure excellence" is interesting... Looks a lot better in M-Sport trim to me.. Or you can go the full Rolls-Royce look with two-tone paint if you want..

1 pointI reckon you're right! I recall my e30 bar is symmetrical. As were the later 318iS.

1 point@325iRod I think the stock NZ M325i / Mtechnic package was 20mm front and 14.5mm rear - mine came with older model non-adjustable Whiteline bars 22mm and 16mm. I think the new whiteline bars are now 24mm and 16mm. Its handling damn good for an old girl now, especially with new sticky tyres. Once I do Control arms, tierods, CABs, subframe, RTABs it should be significantly better - as you would bloody hope haha

1 pointGoing from no rear bar to having one makes a good difference. My 316i started out with no bar, and 30 year old RTABs and subframe mounts. I did the lot - in OE rubber - with a 13.5mm rear bar. Later updated to 14.5mm when the front went bigger and all the front bushes were done, and H&R sportsprings with Koni yellows. It's firm tight and grippy, but doesn't rattle my teeth or shake my kidneys too much. Show us a pic of the bar you've got, they're pretty recognisable. They can be very fiddly to fit - best done with the car on a hoist.

1 pointHey Sammo, yeah did see that on his website and flicked him a message just to double check it was correct before reaching out here and on FB. I'm really looking forward to seeing what difference it makes going from nothing to having a rear bar - im picking it will be a reasonable upgrade (fingers crossed). I'll be sure to update my project thread with my experience. Did you install the 16" bar or is that part of the msport package on your beauty?
-
1 pointNice, I have a 16" rear bar on mine (22mm front) but wouldn't mind it having a 'tighter arse' so will do the RTABs / subframe / diff bush sometime this year. For subframe I imagine 80a poly would be fine, will likely stick to OEM for diff carrier. Weitz Industries (Hamilton) have a rear sway - presume its 12mm though https://weitzindustries.com/collections/e30-suspension/products/e30-rear-sway-bar?variant=35081111077022 Edit: sorry, its actually out of stock...

1 pointThanks Olaf, that's some good advice. As it was a standard 318 chassis it didn't come with stabilizer links, bushes or supports so I've purchased new ones. No intention of going racing but went with Poly bushes as that's the path I've gone down when replacing all other bushes on this car. I thought I had a rear sway bar that I had acquired sometime ago (pictured below) but I went to fit it all last night and of course it didn't fit so not sure what its from 😂

1 point"I bought this pig-hunting truck. Can't understand why all the pig-hunters come out of the woodwork to admire it wherever I stop". They're not the "wrong people", they're 200SX family.

1 pointYes, RightCar uses the official manufacturers information. It probably won’t have the F31 320d on there as only the xDrive version was sold new in NZ. Worth noting the figures used for the calculations are WLTP 3P figures, not the NEDC which is probably what you will usually see quoted for a 2014 model. As it’s a Jap import the responsibility for the information being provided lies with the importer of the vehicle and should have been provided to NZTA. If you get real stuck let me know and I’ll see if I can help you out.

1 pointYeah imagine everyone driving around second hand EVs with f**ked batterys that get less than 100km to a charge. Gotta top it up every night when you get home. Electricity network struggles on a cold winter night nevermind everyone plugging in their EVs.
-
1 pointThe Leaf's kwH/100KMs is that I've calculated mine out to be based off a few charges, so the results of that are fairly accurate for my use. The Outlander dealer site says Dealer site say 7.4l/100km, electricity at 16.9kwh/100km, so I've just inflated those numbers slightly. I purchased it looking to save 2k a year in fuel, and more in maintenance for the next 2 years. Countering against it devaluing to next to nothing over the next 5 years assuming the battery degrades to below 50kms of range. So it should save me a little bit of money over all, but probably won't have been the case if it was 10k+ Total emission calculations really are a mixed bag, as it requires drawing a lot of data from a bunch of places who aren't particularly forthcoming about providing such data. I'd say that for everyone, you might as well drive your current vehicle until you want to replace it, and then see what has come to market.

0 pointsstoreman just let an unmarked pallet worth 40k get picked up by an unmarked box truck with no paperwork. when i was away. and i am now blamed for it ( not directly, but there is the insinuation) :sigh:. hoping the truck was definitely one of our regular forwarders, though they claim there is no knowledge of it.
