Here it is folks! Pretty awesome ride and I love the fact that it handles like a sports car with the practicality of a SUV!

Thanks Graham, he currently has a Skyline and been through the whole Nissan range of 2.5t cars, Cefiros, other Skylines, S14's etc, so the lack of HP in the E30 is appealing to his parents even if it doesn't have all the safety bits. He has been looking at Escorts too which lack the safety bits but I understand the appeal having had a few of those myself. If he has a nice almost classic then I don't mind using it occasionally either and he can use my E90.

You are taking the word platform in the wrong context. This article is not referring to vehicle design and a common design across both brands. As I said it is referring to “car sharing platforms”, ie the software and booking systems required for car sharing schemes. It is the IT platform, not the floor plan of a car. Don’t get too carried away...

Hi, I am recently having problems with my GM4 module in my e36 328i convertible, the car was leaking water and the moisture have eaten away some of the PCB on the GM4. I took the gm4 out I got almost everything working by cleaning the PCB and drying it with a heat gun on low setting, soft top works, windows and central locking work, comfort features work. But then because the soft top was not 100% fixed, it leaked under heavy rain again, and then nothing works. I can't not find a gm4 with the same part number anywhere, So I brought a GM4 from eBay, which the seller claimed is pulled from an e36 328i convertible us spec. it has a different part number. And everything bar the soft top and the comfort features works. (the soft top doesn't resync when I hold the button down with the new module, it almost feels like it is not for a convertible) the information on the net is very inconsistent about what part number is for what model of e36. The first photo is the broken unit from my car, and the second photo with green sticker is the part number of the unit I brought from eBay. I have looked on realOEM, but even the broken unit from my car is not listed on there. So a few questions 1. what is mapping between different gm4 and e36 models, are they interchangeable? 2. Is there anyone know some guy in NZ that do repairs on those gm4 modules? 3. Anyone have an e36 convertible that willing to let me tear the gm4 off for a test? Thanks, Richard

i wouldnt recommend using plywood unless the tiber is clearly marked as treated and has appropriate standards marks on all pieces. i learnt this the hard way when i sent a container overseas many moons ago and didnt use treated pallets. expencive mistake you only do once.

Really nice words Josh. Atta was one of the greats. I didn't know him overly well, but when we did catch up it was always like reconnecting with an old friend - he was an incredibly gracious, humble, funny guy who always had a smile on his face. RIP Atta.

Still remember that smile on your face.

B12 pro kit all in, replacement rear suspension arms and links while I was there. Definately a firmer ride but still very compliant, really nice feel. Needs an alignment now to finish off. First impressions are it’s nicely aligned to the natural balance of the car and will make it more of a B road runner which was what I was after so currently very happy. Drops a few cms so looking sharp

Also get the buyer to put the money as a gift, that way he pays the paypal fees. Not you ? As for shipping the rims, plywood circles sandwiching the rim wired together.

Hi everyone, Haven't posted on here in a long while - but just wanted to let you all know of a fellow BS member who sadly passed away in the mosque tragedy on Friday. Atta Elayyan, known on here as 'crazyarab' has been named as one of the people killed at the Al Noor mosque. He was a regular contributor to the forums since 2007 - many of our long standing Christchurch members knew him and his cars well. The last BMW he owned was this E30 V8. He also previously owned an E36 M3 and a silver Tech II M325i, all which sported the number plate 'CRZARB' Atta was a talented software developer, a member of the All Whites Futsal team, and has a young family. I'm sure you will all join me in sending condolences to his family and friends. Incredibly sad news. - Mark.

Yeah he was very passionate about cleaning his cars. One of the last meets was a cold wet day but he spent 6 hours the day before cleaning his car immaculately. I posted this last night but heard mixed stories about his status so I'll repost here; We sadly lost touch after his focus switch from cars to family and futsal. One of last times I caught up with him was when i purchased the Hartge wheels off him, he sold them to me for what is considered a steal compared to what they are worth as he knew they were going to a good home and he would get to see them used. He was genuinely a nice guy and always happy to help. He will be missed

Thanks Mark, RIP Atta, Ill re-post what I wrote on facebook, Brother I can't even fathom this.I will eat some of my own advice in my hazy tears.. And remember the good times.Learning today your passing in this terrible terrible incident.I remember how OCD you were and we use to joke about our problem when modifying E30s of how it needed to be perfect or why try.How wheels where everything to make the look of a car, how the way a car looked is also how it should perform. When I would travel to Christchurch to perform in Antiform and make sure we caught up between flights and sound check with Cliff. My thoughts are with you, your wife and little one in these dark times. You won't be forgotten brother. New Zealand stands with you and the Muslim community. If anything this will insight community lead world change.RIP Brother... RIP Josh
