Had the honour of working on @ContrailsM535i today. What an absolute beaut of a car. I am inlove but he won't sell it to me haha

Hi All, I originally joined the forum when I bought my 2008 130i MSport back in December 2019, but forgot to post to introduce myself. Anyhow the 130i is my 4th BMW, and it is way the better and more enjoyable car to drive. The 130i are meant to be driven.

Had a little Easter meet on Sunday. What a nice turnout. Some beautiful e30s and some other beautiful cars too. Here are some pics

Finally had a spare moment to fill the diff and refit the exhaust on the m3 last night. Also fitted my new intake. Now need to redo that hose to the booster round the back to make it look a bit nicer.

As the title states. I have a f3x chassis 4 piston brembo front and 2 piston brembo rear brake set up for grabs. I paid 1400 for this off a European wrecker in Auckland and was going to fit them to my F30 but have since sold the car. They come with soft lines, 340mm rotors on the front and 345mm rotors on the rear with the bigger backing shields to swap onto your vehicle as well . Pick up is in Glenfield and shipping at your expense. Kind regards SJ. 02102916373 $1000

To be fair, most of those e46 'deficiencies' you mention aren't present on the e36 equivalent. I have a vested interest, I don't profess the following to be objective... I think the e36 M3 deserves just as much credit, if not more, than the e46 equivalent, it was the e36 after all that heralded in 15+ years of ridiculously successful chassis and engine architecture. The e36 M3 was revolutionary, the e46 M3 was simply, and certainly beautifully, evolutionary. The e36 M3 was the last truly analogue sports car BMW ever made, and a remarkable one at that, it deserves a top 5 position for sure.

Free bump. These also fit various E8x models, I have the fronts on my E87 130i (direct swap) and rears to go (a bit more of a faff). Even just the front upgrade is epic, don't hesitate. And for 4x calipers, pads, and rotors? This price is a steal, even if you only ever use the fronts! Am also sure SJ can provide the professional installation/conversion advice you might need, top bloke all round.

Having watched the build from afar, I am not surprised this gives me a semi. Props for a job very well done Mr. Harper. 👌

Despite not being involved (read: engaged) recently with BS I've always had a soft spot for it (except in 2020 but most of those bad apples seem to have fallen from the tree), and would like to see it survive. I'm also old enough to understand the real benefits of forums over modern social media. Way back in the day (early 2000's) this place was a viable business if the conversations I had with then-owners were valid, it made more in sponsorship and donations than it cost to run. That's not viable now because, I'm afraid to say, there's no active ownership and moderation is stretched and (perhaps understandably) jaded. Two sponsors at $500 a year each, and some technical contribution from members, is probably all it needs but the sale value is nostalgic only and certainly nothing like the numbers floating around a few years back, that was dreaming. If the owners want to sell the domain for anything more than the cost of registration, it'll be a stretch. And what do they want to do if they don't get a good offer? Sit on the domain out of spite? Any help migrating the domain from one ownership group to another would however be value worth compensating. I dunno but if any organising committee feels I might add value, I'd be happy to consider trying.

I'm thinking the same. I have a Med 4.1 LSD built by Kayne.

I've been very interested (multiple excel spreadsheets interested) in diff and gearbox ratio tuning after the Mine's R34 GTR was found to be using GTST diffs, but won't get into the weeds here... ...Surely the 3.64 is the least desirable ratio when compared to the 3.73 and 3.91? And at $2k aren't you looking at an off the shelf OS Giken or similar slipper which means you get to choose whatever crown wheel you'd like?

Yup saw that, thought about pulling mine from the race car and giving it a clean. The additional (bolt on) mount and the stud conversion were interesting, but not over two grand interesting.

In other news - medium case 3.64 LSD: $2300.

Hello fellow rod bearer 🤣 Very unique interior. Actually the cooled and ventilated seats is one my favorite feature, which I thought of nothing initially until I first used it on a hot day. Look for M-tech YouTube channel to see M5 maintenance and tips, you can also look at my thread here of what I have done so far.. We also started with a low k car, 54k kms. Stock and untouched. It’s got its pros, but cons. All of the big ticket items will be done in your ownership. Happy to help if you have any questions about some issues that you may encounter.

The auto box is good for an auto. It is quite fast. They all come with paddles. There are a few mods for them too. I can't be assed with a manual for a commuter. Especially as they are so much more expensive. On another note. I think I stuffed up the auto wipers on my car. I hit the auto button and when they sense rain they just run the same intermittent timer. They don't change with rain intensity. Has anyone stuffed this up before and fixed it? I was mucking around with the features turning them off and on. It is possible it started doing this when I installed cruise control. I used the wiper stalk that came with it and it doesn't have a rear wiper ability.

Very productive weekend. New input shaft seal for the gearbox. Was super careful putting this one in, made sure it went in as square as possible and tapped it just barely below flush. Didn't take many photos since I was really trying to get the car driveable for this week. Motor back in, cooling stack in. I installed a new MAF sensor, O2 sensors, fuel pump. But I still had a rough idle. Eventually discovered it was the MAF connector itself. The female pins were quite loose which meant that with the airbox off and the intake tube moving around with the engine the contact was not good. I squeezed the pins tighter and fitted the airbox so everything was solid and the idle was perfect. A quick look at the fuel trims in INPA suggest they are perfect but I'll do a proper log later and see how things look. Front end taking shape Back on the ground, first time seeing the final ride height (will settle a bit) with the new bilstein B8s and eibach springs. Pretty much perfect for what I was looking for seeing as it will be my daily. Cabin filter and new windshield cowl fitted. Unfortunately I'm still missing the front air duct that feeds the airbox. The one of the donor car was broken so I'll have to make a trip to the scrap yard to get one. Interior assembled with a few nice new parts, I'm still repairing the driver seat so I have temporarily fitted the driver bucket seat from the M3. Sorry Olaf, this ones getting a badge. Car got a much needed wash and out for it's first quick test drive. Absolutely stoked with this thing. It's very quick, corner to corner it's not really any slower than the M3. Not quite as much zing as the S54 up top but much smoother and torquier low down. Still a few details to finish it off: - Driver seat - AC re-gas - Air intake scoop - Exhaust hangers, the 325ti has unique hangers which I didn't pony up for resulting in the tail pipes not sitting quite centred - It's too quiet. I like my cars quiet but at idle you wouldn't even know the thing is running. It has a fully stock 325ti exhaust, so I think I'm going to open up the small centre resonator and gut it and see what that sounds like. - Z4 FCABs - Alignment - Tyres, the Chinese ones on it are not up to scratch for the B30 torque - Custom plate I think, this one is a keeper I love it too much already.

Not mine but prepped this kitted 88 320i sedan for an engine swap and manual conversion. Did a little round of pics with my client's vert and mine and also swapped in my mtech 1 steering wheel and fitted my tech 1 boot spoiler on the vert. Today was a busy day. Also listed my f30 320d up for sale.

Went for a short drive down some nice twisty back-roads and ticked over 440,000km's.

Fitted the seats I had reupholstered about 4 to 5 years ago in finally. They compliment the grey really nicely. Also fixed my odo gears with new one's as the odo stopped working just after I fitted the seats coincidently
