Thread pitch is 1.5 mm. Plenty on Ebay, about NZ$50 landed here.

No, there's no such thing as a M325i engine, it's just a normal 325i in the Mtech 325i car.

Someone's really trying the scam routine with BMWs at the moment, just had another email from tme re this car, dam I was interested too. Hi David, We have concerns about the listing BMW Alpina B10 2000 - 277043858, which you participated in or viewed recently. We have reason to believe that this account has been compromised by an overseas scammer and this auction is not genuine. We have suspended this membership until we have resolved this with the actual account holder.

Cam change on mine was worth 20 hp, headers should be worth another 10 to 15. I just had more duration ground into my existing cam, wasn't very costly at all, done by Franklin Cams in Pukekohe. Ooops, mine is a B35, that would be the first change.

You can't adjust the noise away in the M40, most likely worn cam as Brent says, combined with faulty hydraulic lifters. The ticking sound will be the lifters, either not getting enough oil, or gummed up. Sometimes you can get away with cleaning them out, doing the oiler bar at the same time. If the noise doesn't go with a clean, they can be expensive to replace, so be careful. Apart from the head problems, and they are not uncommon in these, there aren't many other big problems they suffer from.

Showing your age Ash, the 80's were jackets and pastels, denim is much more 60's and 70's. Actually, thinking about it, it was probably nappies for you?
-
I agree, and what's more that just happens to be my bid leading at the moment.

If it is the original car, and it seems that is the case, then they've forgotten to make it a M325 when it was reregistered. Why anyone would go to the trouble and expense to pp it with that plate I can't understand, unless they were trying to hide something. It is still possible it was written off and they've cut and welded the vin across to another shell before reregistering it, conspiracy theory?
-
The advantage of being old and having a good memory.
-
As it's registered with a pp, I don't think a vin check will prove anything that we don't know. I do think it's just wearing the original M325's plate?I think the stripes thru the 0's came after this plate was issued?
-
I think the car pictured is the car for sale, but, the number plate is not the legal plate for that car.
-
Something fishy here? This car was first reged in NZ in 87 as a 325i under plate UX4409, then changed to personal plate NL433o, which as a govt plate NL4330 was a M325. My guess is that the M325 was written off and all the bits changed to this car which is now pretending to be a genuine M325? Someone's gone to some trouble to try to pull this off.

Converting a M60B40 to run a Toyota 5/6 speed manual?
Silver Fox replied to [email protected]'s topic in Performance
Did Mike go that way with his race car? I know Andy Culpin was looking at it for Babbs car. Seem to recall one of the race cars is running a toyota box? -
The small case are fine, mate of mine puts 300 hp thru with no problems yet.

You need the E30 output shafts as well if you do the swap, or you can use med case E34 output shafts, they're the same as the E30.
