Good.. I really hope you did... I have had a steering wheel come off while driving...not a very nice experience. You don't know how much leverage you put on a wheel while driving untill it comes loose or breaks free.

There are a few people on this forum and many who have left that can actually give the right advice with the knowledge gained over many years and try to help. It's your choice as to if you want to listen or not. Many don't listen and have regrets with the situations they get themselves into.

Can I check it for free to maybe save your life or someone elses ??

I very much doubt that the recovered thread from using the tap and die will be strong enough to be safe. Did you tighten it to 80 Nm ??

I apologise if i have hurt your feelings by coming across as being rude. The price is $250, $350 if I supply the bearing. OSCH won't let me allow you in our working area unless you have $1,000,000 public liability insurance and you receive and accept our training schedule.

Sorry...offer withdrawn good luck
-
I can do it for you- $250 incl- you supply the bearing

Ray has previously offered to help the OP. This problem can't be repaired for a box of beers and the ABS light can't be turned off

A scan does not always diagnose the actual fault. The readings you get may be the result of an unmetered fault. ie: the result of something that is mechanical rather than metered. Air leaks are a prime example for lean oxy fault codes. Leaking injectors and faulty fuel pressure regulators for rich mixture issues. The scan tool is just a tool ... the user needs a brain and diagnosis of the actual fault may take a lot more time than just scanning the vehicle and providing a print out.

You can't but 12.5 belts in places like repco. Try a 13 X 860 first. The 13 will ride slightly higher in the pulleys. And then go either smaller or larger.

Help please - loud high pitched noise from engine bay
*Glenn* replied to mtk540's topic in Maintenance
Yes...same part. PCV valve = crankcase ventilator valve = oil seperator valve. They can get real loud at times when they fail -
Help please - loud high pitched noise from engine bay
*Glenn* replied to mtk540's topic in Maintenance
Possibly the PCV valve. Try releasing the oil filler cap slightly and raise it a little and see if the noise goes away. If it's that loud though you might not be able to release the cap with the suction on it. If necessary, use both hands to raise it. -
It is mint...one owner only done 50k. Manual 840ci. It's in my shop at the moment

There are two different release bearings. The carrier on one is 10mm longer than the other. You might be pushing the piston out of the cylinder.

If it really stackes up...it's under priced... it would be worth alot more

Brian is now home after a short period in hospital. Unfortunately the prognosis is not good for Brian. An operation will not help and I'm sorry I have to reveal that Brian has been given 3-6 months to be with us. I'm not sure whether Brian will be on the forum. If you would like to make contact, please give me a call.

I stand corrected. The NGK application book I have here does not give those as a replacement. We use Bosch plugs here
