  1. Looks great again. Watch out for those concrete barriers aye
  2. Would be sacrilige to part out the car on what looks minor damage on a mint looking example
  3. Great planning/ timing - on a Race Series weekend. Can't imagine many race cars...
  4. What a bummer. Case in point for insurance though...
  5. Shiny engine - well done
  6. ^^^^^^ YEP totally agree. I agree on the "bit" lower but not stupidly... Would be a real shame to bastardise such a rare model in that condition.
  7. Ok, wasn't aware yours were factory HID. Certainly no problem with yours then Infact, i use aftermarket kit ballasts to replace blown OEM ones on cars at work. Much more economical repair
  8. ^^^^ Looks like OEM wire. If so - being red wont be ground
  9. Nice one Glenn. Don't get lost aye...
  10. In all serious though - yuk on the 8! BOT - Good luck with sale though
  11. M20 fuel pump wire is green/purple from memory, I assume the M50xx system is the same. Can't recall locations of parts on the M50xx though Lack of relay will not allow the pump to work, not work all the time. Your best bet is probably to give it to a sparky to check for you
  12. Like Allan, I would think there is a retention issue further up the column. I can't imagine that guibo being designed to control end float in the column
  13. Car had probably "gone to sleep" - which in turn would turn everything off
  14. Well they are correct in failing on aftermarket HID's in standard headlights - they are illegal.
  15. ^^^^^^ As above & yep a lot of BMW's look better in their Touring guise I reacon
  16. E38 or 39 only. Not X5 as many sellers include. Cosmetically the same but different pixel angle refraction (due to flatter viewing angle) & a different bezel
  17. The screens are pretty reliable, I have only ever seen one with pixel failure, one pixel too. Yes you need the VM too, both are plug & play replacement. You don't require the Mk 4 unit but that is a good upgrade as well. Not sure what Nav unit is currently fitted & if Jap or Euro but you don't require any Nav unit if you don't want. I upgraded & would never go back to 4:3 screen now. Not keen on taking out to replace with Dynavin either
  18. Yep, agree that the puddle lights look good. Do think the others area little too blue. Would also look great with a 16:9 screen upgrade - once done - you wouldn't go back I am sure
  19. ^^^^ Ditto, Don't think the E30 suits big rims, 16's biggest IMO Stunning car though
  20. ^^^^ Ditto to what mine was - right down to the missus complaining to me about it. I am normally in denial initially when "enlightened" to issues with our cars. Don't really want to know after working on everyone else's all week...
  21. Dunno on the M54 but on the M52TU there is a breather/return hose that goes from a canister under the plenum & down to a tube on the dip stick tube near the bottom. I had to replace this hose a few weeks back after it had fallen apart due to oil ingress & had been leaking - oil running down onto sump, cross member area. Not a great deal but enough to leave a mess on the garage floor Edit - just looked - Yes hose 4 on the RealOEM diagram
  22. Alan, could be the antenna or the receiver in the Nav unit. I have a receiver if required. May also have an antenna. If a replacement antenna is required, you could have an extension lead made up. Antenna is on the rear shelf in the sedan, obviously in the front of the Touring as there is no angled glass in the rear. I thought you were going to keep & upgrade the Touring?
  23. Funny, I find the low beam light output/pattern fine with HB3 bulbs, pre facelift lights but still good lenses, high beam brilliant
  24. Have used eyecrometer plenty of times.
