Doubt very much it will have DSP, few E39's did & neither did early E38's

You won't get the pintel cap off another without destroying it. Has the injector pintel been damaged (I would think not) if not just get a new pintel cap for it. Anyone who services injectors will have them.

Agree completely Greg. As has also already been mentioned, I would challenge that "most" kiwi drivers are oblivious as to the road worthyness of their vehicle from one WOF to the next - even though by law it is the responsibilty of the driver to keep their car to WOF standard at all times. They rely on the 6 monthly check to highlight issues needing attention & act then - & then often only because they have to. I can see the WOF inspectors raising the bar for strictness, (have talked to many & work with one) to cover their arse for the doubling of time before next inspection - all subjective points - how much wear is to much - suspension, brakes, rust - how bad is to bad:- And as Greg says - tyres. Modern, bigger/wider wheels /tyres are good at concealing inside shoulder wear - particually the rear, where unless they are conciously inspected - it is not noticed, hell even I got caught out recently on the E39 the same way - removed the wheels to get the rims straightened &... chords showing on the rears inside edge, tread looked good, albeit realitively low, from behind The idea of saving punters money is a joke - the above paragragh will negate any saving. And the hoods that get the WOF then revert to the cut springs, dangerously modded cars, will have another 12 months to drive a dangerous car, unless of course the policeman with nothing better to do, catches him & orders the car off the road... All this said though - would be great for my E12 that does about 1500 kms a year max, & since we have had -has never failed a WOF... oops - except the last one where back tyres were just below minimum. As Greg say - if it aint broke...

Sound as like you need to get it checked by someone who knows what they are doing! Also sounds like you (or someone) are just throwing random parts at it. Adding to, if you buy a complex vehicle like this - factor in spare cash to fix problems that arise - as they always do.

Do you mean you added 4l of oil? If so - that is 2/3 of its total (6.5) so that is a hell of a lot to be low, surely a low oil level signal would have come up? Sorry no idea off hand as to where it may be coming from

^^^^ What condition are the lenses in? Our car has perfectly clear lenses & the halogen lights are quite ok (dip & full). Admittedly HID are better. I did, when I first bought the car into NZ, remove/dismamtle the lamps & clean the film off the insides of the lenses of the usual Jap smog - this when the car was just 4.5 ysrs, 24km old too. Also I see a lot of E39's now with varying states of UV crazing of the lenses - some severe. This greatly reduces light output.

Personally I reacon the OEM alloy suits the car. From the look in the pic - maybe just lower it a tad

Clear the codes & see what reappears. Could well have a vacuum leak somewhere Mass air flow meters are oftem miss diagnosed as the problem, usually due to operating outside their parameters. Same for 02 sensors.

I have only ever seen the wire broken - on many over the years. I have always just taken it out & soldered the broken wire back on (electric iron) & never had a future problem:-

Welcome to site. Could search the subject as it's been covered a few times on this site. Remove the RHS fuel sender under the seat - you will find a broken wire in it
