    Wow, that's ^ weird.
  2. lol - I love how "Condition Based Servicing" sucks so much - engine oil change in 34,000 kms FFS. 🙄 Of course this is not a reflection on the seller, nor does it detract from what is ultimately a great deal. GLWS!

    Airbag light E46

Well, you're lucky to have found out about the seat bolts, that was a disaster waiting to happen. Makes me think the seat has been out recently. Both the occupancy sensor and the seatbelt tensioner in the passenger seat can trigger the SRS light if faulty or disconnected when the battery is connected, perhaps you can spy a loose connector under or beside the seat? If you have time, disconnect the battery, wait 15 mins and remove the seat entirely (carefully) to check. Even if you do find a loose connector, plugging it back in won't clear the codes/light I'm afraid but at least you'll know the cause. I can probably scan the car for you and reset the light if the source of the problem is addressed. I'm in Mount Wellington, send me a PM if you think I can help.

    Airbag light E46

It really depends on what the problem is, most independent workshops will charge you $60+ just to run a scan, BMW themselves will likely charge you double that, and most wont give you a printout to take home (even though you've just paid for it). What the scan identifies will determine what's involved to fix the problem. Did you cause it yourself by working on the seats, seatbelts, dash, or steering wheel without disconnecting the battery? Does you vehicle have an outstanding airbag recall? If so you might get lucky have it all fixed at once for free. Where abouts in Auckland are you?
  5. Interesting... @E30 325i Rag-Top - even when I look at my quote I don't see the image but in your quote of my quote I do see the image and no text... bizarre! FWIW - I just went to copy the text I can see (in @gjm's post that I quoted) and I can't select it as text, the text itself is an image?!? Brain explosion. Too hard for tonight. 😂
  6. No, none of them came with Vaders, and you couldn't option them in to a non-M3 (not even an option code available), they were strictly M3 exclusive. If anything other than an M3 has Vaders they've been swapped in.
  7. Sold. Thanks @F10er for a quick and simple transaction. 👍
  8. I forgot I still had this and it's no longer required. It was installed on my 130i but I understand it fits all E8x/E9x N52's. The only reason I took it off is because my brother got me a Mishimoto one not knowing that I'd picked this one up and I can be a brand whore so swapped them. Comes with free OE used clamps (not pictured) and if you think it's beyond your mechanical skill or available tools, and we can establish a mutually agreeable time, I can help you put it in. I'm in Mount Wellington Cost: 1 x 12pk Mac's Three Wolves Pale Ale You'll get this plus the clamps if you want them (you can also reuse your existing clamps): And on most vehicles this simple hose replaces all of the weight and complexity of the assembly at the top of this pic: More vroom.

    E36 Widebody

First half of this video, not my style but I can appreciate some of the details (I preferred the RX-7 actually). LTO stands for "Live to Offend" so they're not pandering to the masses that's for sure. Click Bait Alert: this is not their project car.
  10. That's firmly 130i territory, I can't see a 170k 123d fetching that even if it's mint. Now, in fairness I did just look at TM and see most are in or above your quoted range, damn, there's even someone trying to hawk one for $20k which is idiotic. I simply can't see how one could be worth more than $5k, it's a 14 year old car but the used car market is insane at the moment so I suppose if you're patient then aim high and see how you go. Regardless of my ramblings, GLWS OP.
  11. I suppose it's a matter of purpose and perspective, for example my 130i is well fast enough, and far too fast for most drivers in NZ based on observed skill. Nobody really needs even a 300 horsepower car unless they're heading to the track and I don't see the OP mentioning track usage. A tune to 130 spec will provide a meaningful (and manageable) improvement, beyond that is totally unnecessary for a daily. I had a 400+hp Evo IV and a (nearly) stock 6.5, the latter was the better drive (by quite some margin) on essentially the same chassis. Horsepower is not king.
  12. Nice car, perfect colour, and welcome, was good to meet you by chance today! I think you mentioned you imported it from Australia? The "BMW Edition" could mean any number of options but according to this (Au) page (https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/bmw-1-series-2013/SSE-AD-7262669) it's "top of the range" (but that could still be below "Motorsport" spec). If you've not done so already plug your VIN into something like this: https://www.mdecoder.com/ to check out what factory options it came with. Looks like you may already have "darkline/blackline" rear lights and if so, that's one of the expensive cosmetic upgrades already sorted. Most E8x's came with body coloured mirror caps, not sure if that applies to yours but if so, they've also been replaced. This thread, albeit about 130's, also has some info and insights about the N52 and will give you some appreciation for the love given:

For a 130i? 🤔 And MCOUPE is long gone.
  14. Assuming it's compatible, and I believe it is, I have a Carly adapter with the app that we can plug in to check. Does your daughter's car have a round ("pac-man") connector in the engine bay as well as a trapezoid connector under the steering wheel, do you know? I'm in Mt Wellington, feel free to send me a PM.
  15. Have we seen this one before? NZ new manual with a great spec (especially given it's NZ new). Xenons, alarm (!), headlight washers (!), PDC, Bluetooth (!), cruise control, PS4's, adjustable Konis, poly front bushes. Sounds well cared for. Starting at $8,500, I wonder what the reserve is? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3415208300
  16. No problem. You can press, cut or burn your existing ones out, you will need to press new ones in, some shops may be willing to help you with just that job. I suggest you cross check the cost of poly bushes verses M3 bushes verses new TRW arms with bushes included, counterintuitively you may find the whole assembly is the least expensive option.
  17. If those FCP prices above are US$ then that's a ripoff, don't pay that. The TRW parts you need are: JTC1423 and JTC1424 are the front tension struts - these are the same dimensions E8x/M but the M (and TRW) versions have stronger bushings. You can keep your existing arms and poly-bush them for the same effect as "upgrading" to the M3 (TRW) versions. JTC1426 and JTC1427 are the front control arms and are longer in M (TRW) format than base E8x, increasing camber. These can be found for less than NZ$100 each on Amazon on a reasonably frequent basis. When I sourced all 4 front arms for my E87 they were each available for (average) ~NZ$75 on Amazon, shipping was ~NZ$30, <NZ$350 all up.
  18. I wondered that also but I think because there's only two front sensors, and no on/off button on the console, they're most likely aftermarket. Which is fine if done properly I suppose. I didn't notice the mirror caps, are they aftermarket? Or have they just 'retro-fitted' non-dumbo caps to dumbo mirrors? I did just now notice there's a little sticker/emblem under each mirror, curious to see what that says. As for brakes, there was a full set of BMWP brakes on Trademe a while back for $450, including pads. They needed a refurb but I got my M3 calipers powder coated for $150 all up some years ago. New pistons (as would be required) are cheap once you find them as @Jacko discovered. I imported my M140 (blue) calipers (x4) from the UK and landed them for less than NZ$500, including nearly new pads (fronts are a direct swap, rears require more faff).
  19. The dealer one is indeed nice but I don't think the brakes, display, or mileage make it $5.5k better, that's a whopping 1/3 more expensive, you could retrofit the brakes (or even better, from a M140) for a fraction of that. The dealer one also appears to have aftermarket PDC which is a bit weird, I'd want to see how that was hooked up before getting too excited about it. As for the display, well they all look dated by now, if I had the older one I'd likely keep the screen down, the newer one can't do that and it's very complex to swap the newer type out for an aftermarket, modern looking one. If the dealer one was ~$2k more expensive I'd probably point in that direction but only having done 50k mileage you're possibly looking at a whole bunch of stuff that would have otherwise been replaced under (a presumably 5 year) Japanese factory warranty. Still, lots of money for an auto IMO, although white with sunroof is a winning combo.
  20. I'll be back before New Year's Eve and then hanging around so sure, hit me up then and they're all yours.
  21. Yes to both, I have a special tool but also have a 32mm spanner and rubber mallet that also do the trick. You can borrow either but I'm heading out of Auckland tomorrow for about a week, could leave the tool out somewhere for you to collect though if you wanted.

E87130 is also available, as are 130E87 and BM130I. If were going with something specifically for the car I like the latter of those three. Edit: 1305DR and 5DR130 also available...
  23. Ooft. Outside my house...
  24. Or fail to inspect it at all! And end up with a car you really didn't need. 🤣
