  1. I’ve found genuine bmw parts are cheaper on Schmiedmann vs fcp euro. But for good aftermarket fcp euro is better.
  2. Use something like bmwfans.info to see if the 98’ ones part number matches the 03’ car.
  3. The other alternative is to get a mate who vapes.
  4. Had a nosey at the drains under the ebox and brake booster bulkheads?
  5. The repairs don’t last long. Ok if you’re planning to keep for a short while otherwise just buy new from fcp euro. No coding needed for the asc modules on m5x powered e39’s iirc.
  6. Yeah that male actor has a serious case of the come downs and on a mission to get his next fix. Hmmm maybe there’s meth behind this wall, let’s cut it open with this chainsaw.
  7. Sold them a wee while back. Forgot to update the listing!
  8. Yep so true. If it weren’t for pickapart and Zebra getting so many e39’s I would have never bothered with the old touring I had.
  9. Such a nice looking car but tbh they scare the sh*t out of me haha
  10. I've got a gen bmw handbrake shoe kit i'll donate to the cause also. Thought I could use for the M5 but appears not.
  11. Yeah surely some fault messages would be there after it goes in to limp mode. Best to scan it as soon as it exhibits this behaviour though. I had a similar issue in my old m5 after doing clutch, the o2 sensor connectors were plugged in front to back. You mention the o2’s were replaced but was the exhaust dropped before it started going in to limp for maintenance/repairs?
  12. They are, a thorough wof inspector will call you out on worn bushes and ball joints however as long as the shocks aren't leaking they seem to get through when in reality the shocks are pretty much poked before 100,000kms.
  13. Glad your cyber ego hasn’t deflated too much. Pen is in the mail... ?
  14. Deep Breaths Dave... No we’re sharing our experiences on experimenting with iat’s and how that has affected engine performance. That article you’re harping on about does make sense but I don’t think it’s entirely true and as mentioned several times, a measurement tool i.e a dyno would definitely confirm what effect iat’s has on the m54’s engine performance.
  15. What colour Bimmersport pen would you prefer?
  16. Something tells me you’ve got a box full of them.
  17. Is all the suspension original?
  18. Yeah engine under tray off and a pressure test. Can you smell any coolant while driving?
  19. Exploding pistons as a result of shitty aftermarket tuning?
  20. Well to anyone that thought TL;DR for this, Dave found comfort in a paragraph he found on the internet. He also accepts himself.
  21. I found this on the MS43. I think really the only way is to do some data logging or dyno testing to see what effect the iat has on fuelling, timing, engine power.
  22. Making stuff up? I’m sharing the results from my experimenting on a dyno with s62 iat’s and made the assumption that iat’s can influence fueling on the m54 as well, but perhaps not the case with the ms43. (M54 engines).
